3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. The pour was an espresso jet black with an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head that was mostly lasting and produced some excellent sheeting on the glass.
The aroma was extremely strong of a fresh ground French Roasted coffee, a burnt black bread malt and an earthy doughy yeast with notes of bakers chocolate and a hint of toffee and black licorice.
The taste was lightly sweet and quite malty with notes of chocolate and toffee early on and then progressed into a strong bitter coffee flavor with a mild alcohol finish. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, and had a nice espresso taste that was left to linger.
Mouthfeel was bold and full in body with a dry, oily texture and a mild carbonation.
Overall this brew is very well balanced and quite tasty. It could very well be put into an espresso cup, and would be enjoyed immensely.
This is a tasty beer, if you like coffee. It's pretty rich so you can only have a few.

12 oz. can pours an opaque black with decent beige head that persists and leaves good lacing. Aroma has coffee, roasted malts, molasses, licorice, and cocoa. Taste is bitter with a long finish. Body is full with just enough carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. This is a substantial stout that I’d love to find again. Grovlam (4247) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2017
Can. Huge off white ever lasting head. Pitch black color. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, grain, pine, grape. Full body with a thick texture. Moderated sweet with good counter bitterness. Lingering roasted bitter malt finish.

A secret winner. Very well priced, an extremely good stout in the 8% range. It never lets down. balloonbuffoon (336) - - JUN 18, 2017
12floz can, no freshness date present, paid about $1.50, and poured into a pint glass. Deep, dark brown in color with a retentive light brown head. Decent roasted malt aroma, which carries over to full-bodied palate of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee flavors. Good stout.

One of the best smelling beers I've ever laid my nostrils to. Not a fan of coffee, definitely taste the java, yet still amazing.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2017 A deep dark imperial stout with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light pepper notes, light coffee grind, musty character, nice and smooth. In mouth, a sweet mocha chocolate malt with light vanilla, light powdery character, silky mouth feel, light milk character, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice. Can, about 3 years old. mcberko (17853) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
On tap at Tap & Bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out subdued coffee and medium roasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with subdued coffee and medium roasted malt. Surprisingly restrained for an impie. Pleasant but lacking oomph. JohnnyJ (5562) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 29, 2017
