COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anything but a typical American Pale, Santa Fe Pale Ale is as full bodied as its most robust English counterparts, while asserting its American origin with a healthy nose resplendent with Cascade and Willamette hops. It finishes with a well-balanced combination of the subtle, almost Pilsner-like maltiness accentuated by the German yeast used to brew this Santa Fe classic, and a hop bite sufficient to leave a lingering smile on the face of any fan of American Pale Ales.

A little hazy Amberish gold with a thin tight off white head. Caramalty and leafy hoppy nose quite balanced and even on the nose. Flavor is the same. Calm and balanced overall, caramalty, leafy hoppy, a touch lemony, and a touch grassy. Crisp and dryish and a little too balanced. Could have used a more crisp and less earthy hop tone.

Light amber beer with a thin off white head that disappears quickly. Surprisingly sweet nose of caramel, honey, and perfumed soap. Flavor is bitter initially with some musky floral hops giving way to a burst of sweetness reminiscent of butterscotch and toffee. The individual flavors are ok, but the combination is a bit off putting. Overall, not great.

Bottle at the Alamogordo VFW. Fairly straight forward English pale. Not overly hopped but bitter enough. Went fantastically well with a green chili cheese burger.

Finhead (1814) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Clear, amber pour with a white head. The aroma has some malty bread notes along with mild pine. It has a medium body with lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet and a little dry.

Bottle. Uninspired pale ale. Bland mild earthy hops and grainy malts. Dark copper color.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a thin beige that lasts. Taste is of grass, malt, hops and some citrus. Similar aroma. Has a good body with a slight dry and bitter finish. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable.

Decent Sierra Nevada imitation. Low hop slightly malty for me more of a British pale style
