COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To commemorate our 25th anniversary, Santa Fe Brewing has created Saison 88, a Belgian-style, farmhouse ale. Brewed with German pilsner malt and American wheat, it pours a pale, unfiltered straw color with a snowy white head. Saison 88 is generously hopped with traditional Czech noble hops and a splash of citrusy American originals, Simcoe and Cascade. With our own Galisteo farmhouse origins in mind, we fermented it with a fruity Belgian yeast balancing black pepper notes and a citrus finish. Saison 88 is a bright, crisp, easy-drinking ale, true to our rustic origin and perfect to quench the thirst of a hot day.

Pours a pale, straw yellow color with a thin, white head. Spice and citrus in the aroma; lemon and coriander; bready. Initial flavors are like the aroma with peppery flavors and a touch of hop bitterness added to the mix. Light bodied; crisp, clean, and dry finish. Overall its fairly decent, worth a try

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish off-white head, some lighter gold and bronze tint. Light-bodied; Spicey and relatively pungent kick from the hops with a bit of a wheat and grassy flavour and some subdued hops showing citrus, grass and perfume. Aftertaste shows a bit more grassy and herbal depth with a lingering light airy and easy drinking finish. Overall, a nice beer with no harsh flavours and nothing terribly pungent, just relatively easy-drinking and pleasant. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Campus Liqours (Switzer’s Wine & Spirits) in Norman, Oklahoma on 13-September-2014 for US$1,99 sampled a few minutes later at a tailgate in Norman, Oklahoma - Thanks Phil (haddon90)!

Pours gold with a thin head. Aroma is very nice- traditional grainy, citrus, slightly funky, peppery. Flavor is a bit ordinary- big yeasty, wheat start with a bit of pepper, some burlap, some funk, some floral (dandelion) notes. An odd nutty note towards the end. Bonus points for 5.5 ABV though, I respect any brewery who goes for the true provisional quality of this style. One of the better saisons I’ve found in a can, and certainly one that will accompany me on camping trips in the future.

Solid bright peppery grassy Saison. Bright yellow, big cap. Yeasty flavor with some nice hops and a soft prickly feel. Dry finish. Slightly tart. I could go back to this..."

Can: Semi clear gold color with a monster white bubbly head. Citrusy, malty aroma with not much of a saison characteristic in the flavor. Sour vegatables, and not in a good way, and kind of off. Muy malo.

Can shared by PinkZambia light haze deep yellow with a huge white pillowy head. Standard French yeast aroma. Very pale light malt flavors with a strange hay and rusty nail character. Just OK

This looks excellent, cloudy yellow with a huge head. This is light and fruity and very easy to drink. Very similar to a Leffe blonde. I like this a lot.
