This yellow ale is a refreshing favorite often served with a lemon or orange slice. Wheat yeast gives a HefeWeizen it’s unmistakable Banana/Clove character which also pairs remarkably well with many different foods. 13°

Straw color, hazy, thin head. More banana in the nose than standard Hefe. Crisp and spicy, a bit sharp but that sharpness dissipates quickly. Hint of orange here (could be residual from the slice they put on my glass).

(12oz can). Pours cloudy yellow with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma has yeast, wheat, banana and clove present. Taste has a sweet malt with a bit of hop bitterness. Thin bodied with oily texture. Finish is smooth. This is a very easy to drink beer and I’ll be looking to pick up some more as the temps climb here in Arizona.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub with a pleasing looking opaque copper – grapefruit juice body and white head. The moderate aroma offers up some banana, malt sweetness, cloves and some coriander like spiciness. The taste has big banana and clove notes that pick up a bit of lemon like acidity as the carbonation starts to provide a bit of a prickly mouth feel enhancing the flavors. It stays banana like and picks up a bit of malt graininess into the finish.

[Can] Pours a cloudy light golden color with a decent looking white cap. Sweet nose includes banana, clove, light fruity esters and wheat malts. Wheat cereal, light spice and lingering banana in the taste. Light oxidation. Low-medium palate. Prickly carbonation. Could have had a slightly thicker body. Not too bad overall.

Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - MAR 31, 2011
Can. Rating #28. Lightly hazy somewhat dark yellow pour with a decent white head. Big banana aroma which lends to a nice sweetness. Flavor has a little banana and a touch of lemon, decent finish and very clean. Nice hefe. (1540)

On tap at the brewery during RBWG. Pours a cloudy orange hue with a medium white head. The aroma is very sweet fruity esters, bananas. The flavor is a super sweet hefe, sugary, bananas, little spices. Decent, but a bit too sweet for me.

malrubius (3214) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - FEB 24, 2011
12 oz can from AJs in Scottsdale. Cloudy orange amber with head and a couple floaters. Clovey aroma with mild banana and very little bubble gum and some alcohol. Medium fruity orange with wheat tangy tartness and mild astringency. Not too great.

Can courtesy of cbkschubert. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Smells of citrus, perfumy, grassy, some wheat. Tastes of light citrus, some sweet wheat, spicy hints, some bananas with a dry finish.

GreatLibations (1855) - Last Supper, Arizona, USA - JAN 23, 2011
Pours golden with tall head with good retention. Smells of banana bubblegum. Medium full nectar with good effers. Theres a bit of tartness on the finish. Otherwise a rather fresh brew.
