3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a short pilsner from a can. Small bit of frothy head that disappears quickly and rich brown color. Aroma of clove and nutmeg and not much else. Tastes about the same as it smells spicy with a hint of sweetness. Lots of carbonation and a clean, slightly bitter finish. Easy to drink and nice spice but nothing really spectacular about it.

Poured a rich mahogany semi-hazy color with 1-to2 fingers of khaki tan lacing that dissipated rather quickly. Below average lacing and sporadic foamy spots. Below average retention.
Smelled molasses, dark apple, cinnamon, Atomic Fireballs, nutmeg, black cherry, caramel, gingerbread and all that is Thanksgiving. Really nice on the nose.
Tasted didn’t quite live up to the smell, although I didn’t expect it to. Got nutmeg, gingerbread, molasses, cinnamon stick, caramel, toffee and cherry cough syrup.
Medium body. Oily-to-thin texture. Soft carbonation. Long, warming, slightly finish.
A pretty good winter warmer overall. I wouldn’t say ideal for May 21, but good nonetheless.

A reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet cloying caramel malt with loads of cloves and cinnamon, so-so. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with cloves, ginger, raspy mouth feel, so-so. On tap at brewery. BelgianBeerGal (4155) - Panama City, Florida, USA - NOV 26, 2013
Papago can. Pours a nice caramel brown color with a tan head and good lacing. Big aroma of coffee and banana bread. Molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg and spice in the flavor. Pretty nice. kcorum10 (349) - Idaho, USA - JUL 17, 2013
Pours a murky brown/copper color with medium head that slowly disappears into a thin one. Aromas of eggnog spices and flavor of the same, but minus the eggnog. In other words, it smells like Thanksgiving in a can.
Edit: As this warms, it get harder and harder to drink. For that, I have re-rated this beer lower. That along with burping up nasty spices. dnstone (3524) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Pours a murky brownish-amber color with soft white head. The aroma is honestly a bit off-putting (a bit like a dog turd). Thankfully, it tastes better than it smells...this beer is spicy all the way through (nutmeg) with a light malt undertone and some squash notes, like pumpkin. I feel like this beer just misses the mark.

12oz can. Anise & clove aroma. Mahogany-copper color, medium head bubbles down, light lacing. Medium body, it is smooth at the beginning and and spicy in the aftertaste. Bitter, but very spicy, too, and a little sweet in the middle. Somewhat malty with dark fruit notes as well, plum. Nice beer, not too heavyhanded. 12oz can thanks to MikedR. Clear but more dark red / brown color. Good thin khaki head. Good retention, and leaves a good row and spread of lace. Medium / bigger body. Lighter, smooth carbonation. More of a dry finish. Winter-spicy nose, bit of chocolate, some cherry. Light bitter, mostly bigger sweet taste, with big spiciness in the aftertaste, as well as some fruity winter berry flavors. Overall, respectably drinkable spice ale, with a nice nose. Suttree (6504) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Murky brown, no head. My notes say it smells like anus. I think I meant anise, or licorice, but I think I’ll leave it. Just a big, overly spiced muddled mess. Clearly not my thing. umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Can from trade with a buddy in Arizona. Pours a deep mahogany color with a nice fizzy head that fades normally. Big nose, lots of winter spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Taste is packed with the winter spices but a nice biscuity malt comes through too with maybe a touch of caramel and fruitiness. Fairly thick body and somewhat creamy mouthfeel. The spices are a bit over the top here but I really enjoyed drinking this. Really nice winter spice beer. smith4498 (3673) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - JAN 29, 2013
12 oz can from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours clear dark amber color with off white head. Aromas of Christmas spices. Similar flavor. Way too much spice for me. Medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Craig.
