COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
831 is a classic example of the modern American India Pale Ale. A simple malt bill provides a showcase for bold, citrus, dank hop flavors and enticing aromas. Each sip is clean and dry allowing for the pure expression of American grown hops including Magnum, Columbus, and Citra. Unabashedly aggressive and yet satisfying. 831 is our ode to the brash grace and herbal beauty of humulus lupulus.

Growler @ home, thanks to bytemesis. Pours a milky, cloudy yellow orange appearance with a lasting cream colored head. Aroma has light onion, passion fruit, orange creamsicle, and spicy hops. Medium body. Moderate high bitterness. Low sweetness. Flavor has some orange citrus but really is highly herbal, grassy, and some pine. Finishes quite bitter. Nice flavor and aroma. Eminently drinkable but a little too bitter.

Mild citrus aromas. Cloudy light golden color. Atypical west coast ipa in its soft palate.

Bottle... Pours cloudy and deeply yellow with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is a marriage of golden grapefruit and pine resin. Full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Tons of rindy, tannic bitterness in both the flavor and lengthy finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

Growler, shared by Ryan (thanks!). Enjoyed while watching a football game, so comments are sparse. Hazy pineapple juice pour. Frothy small white head, some lace. Ripe tropical fruit hop presence dominates. Bitterness is restrained. Soft in the mouth; medium body, okay carb. This is tasty.

Tasted at the 16th Bistro IPA Festival on April 6, 2013. This IPA pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, floral and citrusy. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. Medium to high bitterness. Nice residual bitterness. Slightly dry finish. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
