On tap at the brewery. Pours an opaque apricot color with a fine white head. Aroma is pale malty with a strange rye-ish character, I guess thatís what spelt is like. Some banana pith on the nose as well, a touch of fruit salad. Flavor is lovely soft fruits -- peaches, bananas -- with a glorious malt balance and a smooth dry finish. Very much like Odonata Saison (RIP) but Iím inclined to say this is better. Zymurgeist2 (2179) - Redwood City, California, USA - APR 14, 2013
On draught at the brewery. Moderate (balanced) spice on the nose with lemon and cracker. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with full true white head of small bubbles that lingers and leaves great lacing. Strong spice and lemon continue in flavor with a chewy yeast and quick semi-dry finish. Sweet grain lingers long on he lips. Outstanding! kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - AUG 23, 2012
Sampled this a bunch of times now, this review from a growler. Pours a vibrant orange color with a fine-bubbled, constantly replenishing white head; really nice looking pour. Aroma shows white pepper at the front of things with a dryish presentation that doesnít exclude notes of caramelized bananas and honey; everything right where it should be (WLP568?). Lively, fine bubbles in a medium-bodied presentation; mouthwatering and precise on the tongue. A bit of white pepper and clove hit the front of the tongue first, followed by those honeyed notes that, while not overtly sweet, serve to round out the mouthfeel and keep this from being too lean. Layered, luscious saison right here. Drying finish of white pepper, clove + emergent breadiness and toast. These folks are brewing some great stuff. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - JUL 25, 2013
On tap at Sante Adairius. Aroma and flavor of sweet orange and lemon, wheat, light Belgian spice, and yeast. Very good mouthfeel and carbonation. One of the better saisons I've had. Excellent beer.

On tap @ 99 Bottles in Santa Cruz, CA. Great farmhouse saison. A little tart, earthy with a bit of sweetness.

Pours clearer straw lemon in color with a smaller beige head. Aroma brings sweet springy floral notes so pleasant. Flavor brings the unique malt of spelt not too sweet, a little bit of oats going on and settling easy on the palate. slowrunner77 (11911) - Reno, Nevada, USA - DEC 29, 2015
if this is there base saison (as it was advertised) itís easy to see why they have so many great saison/sour beers available at any given time. Bright and a little peppery, with a distinct gummy Belgian yeast. Delicious! ineedbeer (2147) - Oakland, California, USA - DEC 29, 2012
On tap at the brewery.
Aroma is a nice proportionate blend of esters and phenolics with the esters driving. Some overripe pear, citrus, banana, a hint of apple and tropical fruit. Light peppercorn note to balance the fruitiness. A touch of honey hits you upfront.
Pours a, cloudy, pale yellow gold with a white head that recedes very quickly leaving a film on the edges.
Flavor has a nice fruity character. Lots of citrus and overripe tropical fruit. A hint of honey. A touch of banana. Moderate bitterness, but assertive. Some pepper flavor mid to late palate. Some light malt character - a touch of pilsner character.
Mouthfeel is medium light bodied and a touch silky but finishes nice and dry. Moderate alcohol warmth. Light hop astringency.
A nice beer an one of my favorite styles, but not my favorite from this brewery. The esters and phenolics are appropriately balanced, but I prefer the esters to be less banana and tropical fruit and more citrus.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2013 Half pour at the brewery poured into an extra clean snifter glass. Nice hazy golden color with deeper orange colors shining through the sunlight. Good 2 finger sized head that sticks around for a majority of the drink. Nice nose of biscuit, clove, banana like esters, pepper and yeast Very faint hints of zesty hops and some stone fruit (pears?). Flavor follows the aroma with a nice full body and soft carbonation. Very flavorful, with a touch of pudding like sweetness. A hefty and simple beer, a little dry but not like most fully attenuated Saisons. I still enjoyed it, but I tend to prefer Saisons with a more dry finish and more bitterness. Great house beer and it very much improves with the addition of bugs (Saison Bernice) and barrel treatments (barrel aged Anais). joet (2604) - Wilsonville, Oregon, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Orangey golden with a slim head of fine white foam, floral, pepper, some darker Maillard aromas, light tropical and melon sweetness. Only lightly tart. A very pretty, elegant and approachable beer.
