COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Appreciation is a barrel-aged farmhouse ale fermented with boysenberries and our resident funk. After several months in red wine barrels, it has taken on a mouth-watering acidity, a whiff of the barnyard, and stronger aromas and flavors attributed to the fruit. Appreciation’s ruby red color entices, welcoming another sip, another clink of glasses with friends, another moment of contentment and contemplation. With gratitude, we humbly offer our appreciation. Sante!

On tap at The Rare Barrel in Berkeley. Pours a bright red and had a fruity smell. Blackberry flavor. Nice brew, just wish it had a little more body to it.

Draught @ Brus. Pours red with a smooth head. Aroma of berries, funky yeast, tartish bretta, sourness and wood. Taste is sour, heavy with berries, oak, tart fruits, wood and funky yeastiness. Finish is tart, sour and funky with some berries, wood and oak. Wow, quite tasty and balanced.

Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 9, 2017
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. This one has a raspberry red cloudy, kinda dark colored body with a small pinkish red hued head leaving lots of small dots. Smells really nice. Quite woody, sour rhubarb, mild acidic apple vinegar. Not extreme in any direction but still quite nice and red fruity. Tastes quite good also. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it’s just below average on the carbonation. Sweet berries, some white currants - lingering all the way. Quite a sharp and precise one this. Not bad at all. 14.05.2016

Bottle. Pours dark red with a slightly pinkish head of fine bubbles. Aromas of funk and light berries. Taste is tart, some berries underneath the funk. A large sip makes me salivate. Light, fizzy carbonation tingles the tongue.

neongolden (1649) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 23, 2017
(Sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Pours murky medium red with a pale pink head. Aroma is reddish berries, somewhat tart and raspberry-like, ample barnyard funk, a bit oaky and vinous, lactic acidity, jam. Flavour is quite tart, red berries/raspberry with something a little deeper like red grape, zippy lemon lacto, dusty funk, wood, a bit tannic, a little sweet hint of malt. Dry cleansing tart berry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Quite nice, not my absolute favourite SARA, which is a high bar, but very drinkable.
