Bottle (750 ml) shared at tasting. Thanks to kcherney for this one! Gusher. Hazy golden with a small white head, low retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of peat most with a mild fruitiness trying to balance it (not a complete success) and Saison yeast. Taste is also quite peaty with mild fruitiness from brettanomyces and hints of banana. Medium body. Rather - too - high carbonation. Dry and peaty finish. Far from the best Sante Adairius but not bad for a peated Saison (which is a style that probably shouldn’t exist). bytemesis (8236) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUN 29, 2016
Bottle, just a bit of gush. Pours clear golden, large white head, dissipates slow, good lacing. Aroma is light smoked hardwood, dusty, lemon, mineral water, Brett. Flavor is bone dry, light tart, light smoke, Brett notes present but muted, dusty basement. Light body, high carbonation. Interesting take. Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 28, 2016
Pours hazy whitish golden. Aroma is of farm, smoke. Taste is of barnyard, some acidity, bretts. Palate: Medium body, soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Nice stuff, original (smoke). ineedbeer (2148) - Oakland, California, USA - JUN 28, 2016
Poured from a 750 ml bottle.
Aroma is rather ester forward with quite a bit of stone fruit, pineapple and melon. A moderate grain character with a touch of cracker. A medium light smoked note. Light herbal and grassy phenolics. Medium light citrus notes with a bit of lemon.
A bit of a gusher. Pours a hazy, moderately bright, yellow-gold with a large, pillowy, white head that slowly recedes to a quarter inch thick head that lingers. Light lacing and no legs.
Flavor is slightly sweet with a fairly dry finish. Moderate grain notes with some light cracker characteristics. Medium bitterness with a light smokiness. Medium light grassy and herbal phenolics. Moderate stone fruit notes with some lighter pineapple and melon. Light lemon citrus notes.
Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a decent beer and the smoke character is really light which makes it work with the Brett notes rather than clashing. The phenolics from the Brett are low so the smoke kind of takes their place in balancing the fruity esters. I wish it were a bit less dry, but that may have been a factor of aging. mathieuc (3945) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 26, 2016
(Gusher!) pours a hazy golden with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of smoke and bread. Rye? Taste is of fruit and peat smoked malt, pretty fun and unusual. Moderate body, moderate carbonation. A little sticky. Could pass as the smoked brother of the Lindheim Farmhouse Saison Ale we’ve had earlier that day. Pretty good!

My Bottom Line:Whatup14 (1974) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 19, 2016
Wooden smoke, apples and bread dough converge in this highly carbonated creature.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the cloudy beige.
-The dryness and very high carbonation make the mouthfeel a tad too severe to my liking.
-Some banana esters are found within the smoke.
-Not certain the smokiness and saison yeast are all that harmonious (to me, obviously).
Bouteille 750ml au Québec Ratebeer Gathering. Couleur jaune pâle voilée, mousse blanche. Arôme de fumée, Brett, iodé. Goût de Brett, fumée léger, malt, fruité, légère acidité. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen. czar (8996) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 18, 2016
pours cloudy very pale golden with a small off-white cap offering minimal retention and lacing. citrus oil drops on herbal and spicy peat, some clovey phenols, tea leaves, spices, pepper. bright and almost foamy carbonation, light body - kind of watery; drying smoky-citrusy finish. obviously interesting for its lightly smoked and citrusy features in a clean pale maltiness. A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, light cork character, ground cherries, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light Brett, light lactic, very nice and smooth. Bottle at first ratebeer Quebec gathering. Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland. Pours a deep golden color with three fingers of eggshell foam. Nose is rustic grain, some honey malts, pepper, smoked malts, some deli meat. Palate follows nose with less smoke character than the nose lends to the mix. Sourdough bread, wet grass, some light brett character but overall just a bit underdeveloped throughout. A rare miss for Sante.
