3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery.
Aroma has a nice moderate citrus character with an interesting graininess. Moderate white pepper phenolic note. Lemon pepper character with some lemongrass. Interesting citrus and phenolic character.
Pours a cloudy pale yellow gold with a thin white head that recedes fairly quickly. Faint lacing and small legs.
Flavor has a similar citrus/phenolic character that the aroma has. Faint tartness and medium low bitterness. Light graininess and an interesting grain character. Light alcohol spice in the finish. The Brett character is fairly phenolic and citrus with light funk.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall a nice representation of the Brett character with a lot of lemon pepper and unripe citrus rind. The spelt adds a nice note to the Brett and does work well with it.
