Half pour at the brewery – reviewed from notes (05/2014). Aroma is danky, pine, grapefruit, citrus, lemon, orange peel. Nice blend! The beer pours cloudy orange with thick white head that settles to thin bubbly white film over the liquid. The taste is fairly balanced between citrus, malt sweetness and danky pine. Body is medium-light, has medium carbonation and has moderate bitterness. Overall a nice blend of flavors, and probably the least “rustic” hoppy beer Sante has made. Good body and flavor.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a nice orange hue with a thick eggshell head. Orange rind and candied grapefruit make up the nose with sappy resinous accents. Flavor is pretty basic with a grapefruit/orange dynamic and pine to balance, as well as a biscuit maltiness and grassy bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery.
Aroma is moderately citrus forward with lots of grapefruit and light orange and lemon. Moderate dank notes and pine resin balance out the citrus. Light pale malt notes.
Pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium, fairly thick white head with nice retention. Moderately high lacing with faint legs.
Flavor is very nice with a slight sweetness and light malt character. Moderate citrus character with balanced resin and dank notes. Moderate bitterness, but definitely not too strong to overwhelm the soft malt notes.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation; nice, soft character. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall a really nice, amazing beer with great hop character that still allows some light malt notes to show through. Another nice DIPA from SARA.

bytemesis (9342) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAY 13, 2014
Tap. Pours hazy butterscotch, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is dank, pine, spruce, earthy. Flavor is the same, light sweet, medium bitter, just a bit harsh, dank and earthy. Lightish body, a bit watery surprisingly. Finishing bitterness.

joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - MAY 4, 2014
On tap at SARA. It pours a clear yellow/orange color with a small white head. The aroma is nice with spicy dank, tangerine and light mango. The flavor has a nice citric tang up front with more tangerine followed by a spicier, grassy pine bitter finish. Strong bitterness with just a hint of malt that recalls crackers and honey. Very nice.
