Draft. Blackish beer with a cream head. Big coffee aroma. Coffee and light chocolate flavor. Medium bodied. Coffee and light toffee lingers with light chocolate.
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2015 On tap at SARA. Dark brown with a medium khaki tan head. Nose was all coffee, that nice rich Verve aroma, almost freshly roast. Taste was bitter sweet, medium bodied, with a long lingering aftertaste of coffee. One of myy favorite beers from them. wchesser (2111) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 17, 2013
Deep dark chocolate color with full coffee crema colored fast fading head. Nose of light roast coffee and toasted dark malts. Nice slightly slick mouthfeel. Fairly straightforward but very solid porter with nice cold press coffee finish and roasty bitterness. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 6, 2013
On tap at the brewery. It pours a very dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma clobbers you with massive amounts of fresh ground coffee and caramel. It has some of the chocolate and roast from the regular Chavez, but relegated to the background for sure… The flavor is the same. Big time fresh coffee with no astringency, a little caramel and roasted malt. Full bodied and rich for what it is. Loved this stuff. bytemesis (8808) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Tap. Pours opaque black with a small fizzy head and little lacing. Aroma is strongly coffe, plus some roasted malt notes. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Even though the coffee is very forward in this beer it works well. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2013 On tap at Good Karma in San Jose for SF Beer Week. Poured silky black into a large bulb snifter with big bubbly brown head. Smells are pretty awesome with super fresh cold pressed coffee, milk chocolate, and roast. Taste follows the smells, with that amazing fresh cold coffee. No astringency, but creamy milk chocolate flavors tingle your tongue the whole way down. You don’t get a whole lot of malt balance, roast, or any of that, just coffee flavor. The coffee in this beer is unlike most in its style. It is definitely the main focus with no moderation. Awesome. illidurit (2347) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 11, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Pours nearly black with a khaki head. Aroma is straight-up coffee, roasty and fresh. Flavor is similar with nice fresh coffee notes, toasted bread, mild caramel, a touch of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, hefty enough for the bold flavors, while maintaining great drinkability. A nice, straightforward coffee porter with lots of coffee.
