Bottle. I missed this release, so hella thanks to felipe for sharing this with me! Pours deep brown to black with a small brown head and decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, light notes of smoke, vinous. Fairly light on the nose overall. Flavor follows, lightly tart and roasty, some fruity/vinous notes. A bit of oaky astringence leading to a dry finish. Fairly light bodied, but smooth.

Bottle shared at Sean’s Tasting (Ann Arbor, MI). Pours a deeper blackish brown hue, nice haziness in the body with frothy tannish head. Dies to a mellow ring, sticks around as a filmy layer and laces small. Aromas are cocoa and toffee, touches of clove and spice, sour cherries and lemon, lactic elements and funk. Touches of oak, vanilla, and toast. Some decent sourness mixes with that darker malt body. Initial is a bit tart, some firmer lactic elements with cherries, some red fruit, lemony and lactic. Nice tartness, lactic and tart, some cherry, flash ofred fruit up front tapers out. Middle is tart, firmly and sticks well. Lemony and lactic life, some gentle oak, gentle cocoa and roasty toast dustings into the backend. Some gentle spice, richer oak, vanillin and still some nice tart sour lactic elements keep moving on. A nice ode to the base still keeps kicking. Sour and lactic life but still a nice base feel. Very nice, incorporates everything quite well. Tasty. Dark brownie batter pour with a creamy latte head. Nose of cocoa dust, mild freshly ground coffee, lemon zest, merlot, oak, and a tart lactic sourness. Lots of complexity in the aroma. Flavor is a bit more one dimensional with the ’Pucker overpowering the Chavez’. Loads of soured milk, unripened berry, and green citrus. Missing the roast. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Dark brown with a light tan head that dissipates. Very fresh. Earthy farmhouse feel with fruit and sharp barrel sour. Pickle puckering. Mild coffee cocoa roast. Body is thin but it goes great with the sour palate. Sour dominates the roast.
