3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Popped off the cap and picked up some green grass notes that surprised me at first, but they quickly faded into some funk barnyard notes. Then I start looking up to the light .... seeing a thin cloud with in the body that feels thin on the palate because of some candy sweetness. Appearance is a bit mind boggling to the taste so extra points for that. Otherwise if filtered it may look and smell a bit like a wine cooler (ducks)
Just a bit too candy sweet. thinnly sticky. dry finish. The unfiltered is nice and the funk makes up for any lameness. As it warms up to the ending nice little sips of complexity between malts and hops taking over the sweet.

Very drinkable beer with a strong hoppy fruity taste, has a craft beer feel, definitely worth a go.
Available at most places in Santorini. Alengrin (5639) - BELGIUM - SEP 5, 2017
American-style amber ale (at least that seems to be the intention) from this craft brewery on the volcanic island of Santorini. Bottle straight from Santorini shared by Goedele, cheers! Thick, cobweb-lacing, yellowish white head over a hazy brownish-tinged peachy amber beer, turning 'muddy' with sediment added. Aroma of candied apples, melting caramel, fig, marmelade or orange zest, peanuts, camomile, soap, ripe banana. Fruity onset, fresh fig and ripe banana sweet notes, peach, sourish undercurrent, medium fizz, biscuity and caramelly malt sweetness with a light, pleasant bread crumb-like quality on the sides; residual sugariness lends the whole a honeyish flavour. Elegant zesty and floral notes in the end, herbal hop bitterishness but not as much as would be the case in a modern American amber ale; phenolic yeasty notes appear too. Residual honeyish sweetness lingers, with some powdery yeastiness especially in the end, but quite efficiently dried by the citrus peel-like hop presence. Interesting beer, too yeasty and sweet for what it wants to be (almost 'Belgian' in that sense), but certainly pleasant, technically well-made and elegant enough especially seen its geographical context and origins. 330 ml bottle, thanks to Holmen1. ABV is 5.5%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Fairly nice and strong aroma of malts, caramel, bread and red fruits. The flavour has first malts, caramel and bread again, followed by some fruit, and ending in a fairly distinct hop bitterness, with some woody notes. Not too bad this one.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber. Taste is fruity and clear with tones of honey. Body is full and malty. Aftertaste dry and hoppy. Leaves a nice feeling on the tip of tongue by its nice level of carbonation. Silvan7 (1264) - Samarate, ITALY - AUG 9, 2016
Bottle @ Donkey Brewing Santorini. Ramata, velata, schiuma bianco sporco, quasi beige, fine mediamente persistente. Equilibrata. 33 cl bottle at Beer Time in Athens (€ 7.50 - WTF is up with that insane price?!?). BB 14.09.2016. Pours all foam at first, creamy white. As it slowly recedes, a dark amber, hazy body appears. The aroma is jammy fruity. Kissell... or sweet strawberry marmalade. Something strange about it. Not sure if the Belgian yeast. Sweet jammy marmalade and caramel flavour. Medium body. Dryish palate. Seems alright... rather mediocre, if not sub-par, which furthermore makes the price look outrageous. But, eh, in warm weather it’s perfectly drinkable.
