Pours a deep cranberry color. Flavor is bold honey very sweet. Flavor is sugary sweet honey up front. Light notes of grape juice with a bit of red grape skin. Very sweet but nice.
Ar: Dried, chalky cherries, currants, and grape skins; a very, very slight amount of black pepper and smoke. Ap: Deep purple, clear; still. T: Floral, sweet honey, with a somewhat raw edge; grassy and slightly malty; raisins and fresh grapes; clean alcohol; a bit of black pepper; chalk and tannins on the finish, mingling bright cherry and more floral honey. P: Medium body with no carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: A nice dessert pyment; the honey is center stage, with a sweet floral quality, but the dark fruits and tannings from the grape juice really come through, too; alcohol is present but well-integrated and not hot, making for a smooth, rich drink. michaelinwa (656) - Bothell, Washington, USA - OCT 18, 2014
Bottle from WillRunForBeer. Pours a clear maroon color, with an aroma of sweet honey and background of grape juice. Flavor is moderately sweet, a little tart, grape, warm alcohol. Nice, but somewhat thin mouthfeel for the ABV. Enjoyed it, and nice to try an East Coast mead; thanks for putting this one in the box Brian. beerbill (3616) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2013
375 ml bottle. Pours a deep purplish red with no head. This is a still mead. Pleasant aroma of grapes and sweet honey. The flavor is both grape and sweet honey. The grapes remind me a bit of concord grapes, although I see from the label it is a spanish grape. Sweet without being cloying or syrupy. Nice mead. Fantastic mead. Honey is what red wine has been missing for all this years. If you’re a red wine drinker and have never had mead, this is a great place to start.

Really great mead. Small sample at a Sap House seminar and they were all great. This one was medium to high sweetness and a great spicy/peppery grape juice flavor with a spicy honey base. Really good. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - MAR 21, 2012
At mead tasting, sweeter of the meads but the grape flavors overlap a little too much with the honey. Still good stuff.
