UPDATED: JAN 17, 2017 Sampled in a wine glass. A clear pale yellow similar in appearance to a Riesling wine. Intensely sweet with very strong flavours of honey and vanilla. Cloying, oily mouthfeel. A pleasant after-dinner drink but very sweet and strong, so probably not one for most beer drinkers!

Sparkling gold pour. Nice sweet floral honey intertwined with smooth vanilla notes. Sweet but not too syrupy. Has a slight dry finish. Enjoyable mead.

Honey and alcohol in the aroma. Flavor is heavy alcohol with a little vanilla and spice in the finish. More a liqueur than a mead (or beer), and a pretty harsh one at that.

Bottle from Beer Run. Pours a crystal clear bronze color, no head, strong legs. Aroma of honey, citrus, vanilla bean, earth, dust, dry must, heavy booze. The taste is intense honey and vanilla, citrus, lemongrass, booze, burnt sugar and an almost woody character in the finish. Medium-full bodied, very hot. Quite nice. 50th mead rating!

375ml bottle purchased at the source during our visit this past fall... Pours perfectly clear light golden hue throughout, still with a nice leggy film remaining after swirling... Aroma is a bouquet of semi-sweet honey and added floral notes. Vanilla is not that apparent for that matter and almost fails to come through at all... Peppery just more than semi-sweet honey profile, sweeter than dry but not to the point of being a dessert mead. Vanilla Seems to add a smoothened sweetness. A gardenia like floral finish in the backend. Medium bodied but not too full and definitely holds the warmth in quite well without the booze factor coming into play all that much. Finishes on a lightly spiced bent. Wish the vanilla was more apparent though.

Pours nice light yellow. Aroma is honey fresh from the hive, subtle vanilla as well. Love that the really let the honey shine here. Loads of honey and waxy comb. Lightly earthy and floral. Hints of vanilla appear in the middle and linger after the finish. Good stuff. Look forward to drinking the entire lineup.
