Brewed in Canada. 650 ml can. A very dark brown..reddish highlights pour. Nice head of tannish foam. Smells of roasted malt, grain and some hops? Light roasted malt flavour, dark chocolate, which I would suggest brings the bitter notes to the table. There are some sweet chocolate/caramel tastes as well. Decent body with adequate carbonation. Not bad.

22 oz. can poured to a pokal glass at Lunar Brewing Co. displaying a black/brown hue, with a frothy layer of tan foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was both roasted & toasted malt, subtle lager scent, a touch of woodiness, and light hints of prune & dark caramel. A little less than medium bodied, and somewhat dry, with fizzy effervescence that seemed to tone down midway through, after which the texture thinned a bit. Fairly solid, with decent drinkability. Resurrected as a U.S & Canadian product.

Can (sample from local rep). This is not retired -- or if it is, its coming back as a zombie to eat your beer brains. Pours a medium brown-black with a shallow, fine-grained, light brown head. Nose is light coffee, chocolate, smoke, molasses, and rye bread. On the tongue, its smoked chocolate and rye bread, with a little coffee bitterness; its a very well-behaved and demure schwarzbier, with nothing to offend anyone. Finish is clean. Its not a standout, but its also not bad at all. With Kuronama Dark going away, we have to take what we can get.

Bottle of 33cl, in a Lager glass; from the fridge. Hum... nor good nor bad. But still a pils, still light, still no taste. One day Japan, you will learn how to brew great beers.

"like a slightly sweeter, thinner porter. overall it was neat to try, but not something ill go back for. not a ton of hops, or body, but whats there is good enough.

Sampled in the big metal can. Pours nice and dark black. Calls itself a stout but agree on the schwarzbier status. It drinks pretty nice. The malts leave a bit to desire but its alight.

12 oz bottle, pour dark red/brown forming a beige in color foamy head. Aroma of hops, malts and coffee. Flavour was fairly balance, a little more carbonated than I was expecting. Easy drinking with a somewhat bitter ending. Not bad, but not exactly exciting either.
