Light lager; dry but refreshing. Had in a glass bottle in a sushi restaurant (Sushi Life, Wellfield Rd, Cardiff - highly recommended) which was great, especially with the food. However, I've had one of those big pint-glass shaped cans from Tesco and that tasted like death.

Can whilst staying in Asahikawa. Very pale gold, crystal clear, fizzed out head. Sugary malt and starch nose. Ok sweet malt flavour, nice light fruity hopping. Goes down better than the nose would lead me to think. Medium gentle fizz, nice transition to pleasant bitterness in the back half. Very light and clean. Worth a shot when in Hokkaido, probably goes well with Genghis Khan.

This is my go-to beer when having Japanese food. It seems to enhance the flavor of whatever food I order.

Big white head doesn’t last. Clear yellow body. Faint grainy aroma. Sweet grainy taste with strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, faintly mealy mouthfeel. Sweetish grainy strawy aftertaste with fruity notes. Not at all bad. As industrial, straightforward lagers go, this is about as good as it gets. (0.5l can, from Lawson, Kanazawa.)

Lata. Clear golden, medium white head. Aroma of some malt and hops/grass. Flavour has a fair (mild) maltiness with some grass, mild to medium bitterness.

Can. It’s Kolsch lite really. But it tastes fresh enough (no metallic tang at least). If they had just been a little braver and made it slightly hoppier and a tad sweeter it’d have been decent. It does however have no aroma of any sort, and is thin for the abv. Better than many mass produced lagers.

Only in Hokkaido you say? Score! Pretty clean, has a very touch of hop spice, not much bitterness. Basic, well-made for an industrial lager.

5%ABV. Lager Tapped out gold. 6ºSRM. Nose is sour and beery. Mouthfeel is sudsy. Smooth and pleasing and very approachable in all the most pedestrian and safe ways I can describe the palate on a beer. This is the entire point behind national lagers like Sapporo. To this end, this beer is entirely successful and does it very very well. Palate has water biscuit. Sweet pale barley malt, maybe crystal malts. Just enough traditional hop to balance all this sweetness. Clean finish.

Average pils beer, golden color and light taste, light on alcohol as well. Had it both on bottle and can, not much difference.
