Can from the brewery. This Soramoyou Tsukiyo no Dunkel 5.5% from Sapporo pours a ruddy orange color, highly carbonated but with zero head retention. The aroma is caramel, cardboard and soda bread. Bleh. The taste is a bit better, bready molasses, light malts, a bit of herbal hoppiness. A dryish finish. OK flavor but kind of dull.

Can mail ordered from the brewery. Lightly chocolate and caramel nose, a touch of raisin and dark bread. Rather pale orange-amber color, clear, with a low head. A bit thin in the flavor and body, caramel, sweet flavor, a bit toasty. Not bad but unconvincing and just a bit cheesy.

Nice roasted aroma, sweet and promising taste on the tip of your tongue. But somewhat a bland finish and no followup. Would like to try some more if they were available in stores. Might grow on me.

350 ml can. Pours clear amber, looks watery, coloured transparent water. Almost no head to speak of. Aroma is mild, has some malty caramel, Small bitter bite, maybe from alcohol. Taste has some bitterness, a bit of toasted bread. Nothing much going on, aftertaste is short and a little bitter. This beer has no direction, so can’t really understand it. Maybe drinkable (as it doesn’t have much character, plain water is also very drinkable) but that’s it.

Can from a liquor shop in Nasu, Tochigi, Japan. A brown coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Aroma of chocolate and spice. Tastes thin, spice, chocolatey, cloves. It is alright.
