UPDATED: SEP 11, 2011 Low in calories, check. Low in carbohydrates, check. Gentle, smooth, and elegant in flavor, double check. Sapporo Light represents the most advanced evolution of light beer. Highly recomended. BeerZack (432) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 9, 2012
This is one of the more flavorful "light" beers that I have tried and it’s still crisp and almost flavorlessly clean on the finish. The carbonation didn’t seem as over the top as most American versions either. donnybrasco (1) - - MAY 30, 2017 does not count
Not sure why this is getting such a low rep. very tasty and grainy for a light beer. sweet caramel after taste. it doesn’t taste quite the same when warm, but in a cold frosted glass it’s quite the smooth drink. SDalkoholic (2431) - Linda Vista, California, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Bottle from Seafood Cty: Poured a sparkling golden blonde liquid with a soft foam head which quickly breaks down into a thin film covering. Aroma was faint but did have the same quality smell of malts that the regular Sapporo beer does have which is good sign considering this is a light beer. The drink is crisp and refreshing and taste nearly identical to the original Sapporo recipe and I must say this is one of the better light beers I have come across in the vast offerings of piss water Light/LITE beers in the market. rdelljh (177) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 20, 2006
Lacks the body that regular sapporo has.
This light beats the american light beers anyday. It has a light amber color and light carbonation.

Pretty much flavorless, golden and with some bubbles. Nothing special to say about it. ronaldtheriot (1995) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAR 9, 2014
Sapporo Light has a thin, white head, a somewhat hazy, bubbly straw appearance, and a bit of spider web lacing left behind. The aroma is quite rich and pungent, with sweet, biscuit malt and grass. The flavor, however, is watered down. One will detect a slight hop bitterness and a touch of grain husk. Mouthfeel is not as light a usual, and one will experience a pleasant body, here. Sapporo Light finishes mostly dry, crisp, and refreshing. Yes, it is a rather dull, light beer, but in the style, it is much better than usual. Wow, this is very nice. Surpasses any of the Light beers I’m used to. Went well with grilled chicken and sox game. Never a bad moment with good Japanese Beer. Japan has it going on with brewing very good stuff. Price here at the time is a little high, but I will buy again. Thanks! ffbot (442) - Oakland, California, USA - NOV 4, 2015
Fair to say this is an easy favorite light beer. Aroma is malt, rice, dry grain, corn. Pour is still clear low carbonation gold. Decent beer flavor, crisp, calm, evenly balanced. Light on the alcohol.
