Sapporo Soramoyou Hizashi no Pilsner 5% Deal online from the brewery which I heard about from KyotoLefty. This pours a brassy deep gold, deeper than I am used to in a pils. It’s got a nice giant off white head. Bready, peppery and lightly spicy noble hops in the aroma, raspy carbonation and more bitter than expected. It is very dry and the taste is floral hops and bittingly bitter over a crackery malt base. Nice and clean but not exciting though it does grow on me quite a bit.

Can mail ordered from the brewery. Hoppy nose, lemon, herbs, clean bready malt. Clear medium gold color with a low head. Very crisp and very bitter indeed. Light lemon, bread. Very much in the North German style, with profound bitterness. Not a whole lot of malt character, but pretty good stuff.

Internet-only limited beer, comes in the Soramoyou set. Rich yellow-orange coloring, clean malt aroma, thick body, and fine bitter taste. Can’t ask for much more out of a beer and this pilsner pulls it off surprisingly well.

350 ml can. Pours clear and golden, small head, looking quite transparent, kind of what you’d expect from a usual pilsner. I am drinking this one rather cold, so aroma is rather limited, some barley malts, sweetish notes there too. Taste is actually quite nice for industrial brewery, good carbonation, nicely bitter and snappy. The malt is also there, few hints of honey in the taste - but not cloying. Aftertaste is short, bitter and refreshing. Not bad at all!

Herbal hops, grass. Big lasting head, sweet malt then lots of dry pine hops, mint, dry bitter finish. Very bitter herbal pils, Czech style, the best of the "Nasu no Mori" series.

fairly aggressive hops, grassy, very much like Edel Pils. The hops just sit there and linger in the mouth . By far the most bitter beer from a Japanese major.
