3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very sweet smell and taste. Clear. No head. Very drinkable. I appreciate that the can can’t be destoryed.
Hazy yellow-gold color with a small khaki head and poor retention. Minimal lacing. Flat mouthfeel. Clean, grainy euro-lager flavor with only minor skunk taste. Fairly pedestrian lager flavor, but nothing bad either. Scipio (1274) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2017
Pours a thin golden with a small white head. The aroma is weak. I find light floral hops, cereal, grain, and corn. The taste has more going on, but not in a better way. Minor bitterness and with a heavy grain flavor. Some corn and earthy malt, and its a little skunky as well. Short and strong grainy finish. Light in body, and thin in texture. This is easily the worst Sapporo product I've found so far. It represents one of the many perils of rating beer. ChadPolenz (1847) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUN 20, 2017

2015 BJCP Category: 2A International Pale Lager
AROMA: Light sweet grainy malt without cereal notes. Minor presence floral/spicy hops. Clean fermentation. 10/12
APPEARANCE: Clear golden color; large bright white froth mostly dissipates, but does leave a bit of lacing. 3/3
FLAVOR: A moderate, firm amount of sweet grainy malt. Almost has a bit of a caramel flavor in the background. Palette becomes a bit more rustic and cracker-like on the departure. There is a low presence of spicy/earthy hops as it’s finishing with a slightly dry bitter aftertaste. Clean fermentation. Well-balanced and quite enjoyable. 18/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium body and carbonation. More smooth and calm than effervescent. Has the refreshing quality of a pale lager with a clean aftertaste. Plenty of character for 5% ABV and possibly sessionable. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Not the greatest beer in the world, but for the style it’s one of the best. This proves macro lagers can be enjoyable when brewed and served properly. 9/10
TOTAL SCORE: 44/50
24oz can, a really really thick one from Guelph that I can’t crush with my hand. Nose pretty lacking – a hint of malt wafting up, or perhaps imagined? Pour a brilliant and rich transparent golden, much nicer than is usual for this type of beer, hear is large and foamy eggshell. Taste lightly sweet with a medium and almost painfully hard bitterness, though not astringent, more like swallowing a rock. Medium-full body with malt, grass. Little bit of mineral, bit of hop prickle, very faint metal and floral. Would probably have again, mostly to have the can to prop up a leaning table. Seriously, buy it to check out the can. Aroma is relatively strong malts and fruit in the background. The flavor is malts, a hint of caramel, fruit and a mix of clean and mild/medium sweetness in the finish. Travlr (26423) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 12, 2017
