Bottle in a trade with MarkoNm, cheers. Pours dark brown with a fairly short lasting moderate sized beige head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate, roasted malt, peanut brittle, and dark fruit. Medium sweetness, and moderate but increasing bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is sweet and oily.

Not a great dark beer, but not a bad dark beer either. It’s good enough to drink all night long. Taste is fresh seeing that at it’s source.

Ar: Słodowosc, minimalna nutka palonosci i karmelu, niska intensywnosc, przyjemny, subtelny, ale zbyt slaby, jeczmienna slodowosc, zytni chleb. Szkoda. Pos: Karmelowosc slodowa, slodkosc, jakby lekko krowka. Palona goryczka minimalna, na pograniczu autosugestii. Dobre, ale strasznie nudne.

The beer has a dark copper color. A reddish glow can still be seen, but it is almost black. The beer is quite clear. A rather small, greyish layer of foam is formed on top of the beer. The rough foam collapses quick and leaves next to nothing. The smell of the beer is quite good. It is a tiny bit mild though. I smell some rich malt tones, giving the smell some sweetness. There is also a rich toasty and slightly caramel aroma. Roasted malt aroma’s are not that present. Some hoppy notes accompany the malt aroma. There are some aromas of stone fruit, dark red cherries and plums. Not that strong though. The smell might have been a bit stronger overall. The taste of the beer is nice. It is not very complex, but just good. There is a nice maltiness, which is clearly present. The malt flavour is very pure, and not sweet. It is just really malty. There are slight toasty flavours to. Hops are barely present. This is one of the maltiest beers I’ve had, but I like it. It isn’t out of balance. The palate is average. Not special, not bad. The body is medium, maybe even medium light. The texture is a little thin, but soft. Carbonation is low. The finish is rather short, but good. There are nice malts there. Good beer.

0,5 l boks delt på RBHD-treff på Tau november 2016. Klar dyp rubinfarget kropp med lysebrunt skum. Karamell i aromaen. Noe kvalmende karamellsmak med kraftig innslag av våt papp. Noe fylde.

Shared 500 ml can at local tasting. Dark ruby colour, off-white to beige head. Moderate malty aroma, bready notes. Distinctly malty flavour, notes of brown bread and caramel. Not too sweet, minimal hops as expected.

3.4
gunnar (9333) - Sandnes, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2016
Shared bottle at RBHD, Tau. Pours clear dark ruby with a nice looking creamy tan head. Aroma of dark caramel, weak roasted bread. Taste is smooth, dark malts, weak liquorice at the finish, well balanced with a short lived finish.
