Tastes Baltic. not quite buttery, but texture is very smooth. roasted flavors but no where near burnt, not much hoppyness (slightly soapy). Patrickctenchi (6690) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Pours almost black, with a tall, dark oatmeal head.
Light bitter chocolate, coffee scent.
Taste is the same....watery, roast malt.....thin.
Too bad, nice balance, but weak.
Needs some backbone. UkrainPubCrawler (121) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 29, 2013
A tasty porter but not as full flavored as I would have liked. Still nice flavor and enjoyable to drink. Nephilium (1821) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2013
Mild roasted aroma, pours an opaque dark brown, with a light tan head. Chocolate roasted notes, and a bit more hop bitterness then you find in a porter. Light bodied, seems to be missing something, but not a bad porter. Jow (4028) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Last beer of night prior to switching to bourbon. Pours dark brown. Thin nose of coffee. Tastes if cola, coffee, roasted malt, some nutty aftertaste. Thin watery palate. Lacks punch

Bottled from BevMo. Very dark in color. Somewhat sweet chocolate nose. A light hint of creamy coffee as well. Roasted, slightly bitter coffee up front. Coffee seems to dominate throughout. A touch of burnt flavor and a taste of hops in the finish. cfrancis (3535) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 17, 2013
Thanks to spinrsx for this. Pours dark brown with a small light brown ring. Aroma is small roasted malts, some coffee and bitter chocolate. Taste is mostly a smooth roasted malts. I can pick up some bitter dark chocolate. Well done porter. MarkBarnes (419) - Waterville, New York, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Dec. 15, 2013; 12 oz. bottle from Winter sampler pack. Blackish pour; faint cocoa aroma. Chalky, chocolatey, appropriately-roasty, medium-bodied porter. Thin laceless head dissipates to nothing by the end of the glass (making dishwashing a breeze). Hop profile is less harsh than one would normally expect from Saranac. cheap (6007) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2013
Yes, from a bottle this stuff is very attractive in looks and smell. Malty choco smell and a big black pour. Taste is fairly mild black beer, easy going and refined. One of the better dark beers I’ve had lately. Yes, rather friendly and easy going, quite refreshing for a change. No really bitter rudeness in this one. Could drink a few of these, not bad overall beer drinken experience.
