Medium dark amber with a frothy lace. Aroma is malty, sweet with maybe a touch of caramel. Starts with some nice carmel malt, very well balanced by a fair, but not at all heavy amount of hoppieness. Finishes much the same, caramely sweetness and a pleasany bitterness. Very smooth and balanced, I like. hayden1215 (319) - Ohio, USA - MAY 15, 2003
Amber in color with a medium sized white head, quickly diminishing. Malty and sweet aroma. Smooth going down but not much in the way of flavor. A tiny hop bite. zborgerd (187) - Illinois, USA - MAY 9, 2003
I'm someone that doesn't like too much hops all the time. I've got my moments when beer that is loaded with hops is good, but this beer's hops level is just about right. It's a shame that there isn't a bit more complexity in the flavor, but overall this is a very drinkable beer. Kinda bland for an amber, but it's something that I could drink on a regular basis. Light caramel taste. Head is pretty weak. Smells good. A little bold, but not too bitter. I'll keep this one in mind again. Hoss (607) - Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2003
Flavor prflle was very muted, I was not sure what they were trying to show, again a very mainstream brew but not undrinkable. Dorwart (2590) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - MAR 21, 2003
Ok head but does not last long. Aroma of hops and malt. Smells a little bit "green" with the hops though. Color of golden orange with ok carbonation. Flavor decent but nothing spacial. Crisp and clean taste. Slightly bitter finish and with hops presence. A decent beer that will appeal to the masses.

Watery, too thin, and underhopped, but still a decent beer. For the price, it's really worth a try. Holdwine (1232) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 19, 2003
Nice looking and smelling beer. After that, it is pretty average in a drinkable way. Good mix of hops/malt, which is another way of saying not enough of either. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - MAR 4, 2003
Clear amber. Decent white head fades quickly. Light malt taste with a hops finish. Nothing exotic, but a good amber lager. pjcoupe (105) - Perryton, Texas, USA - MAR 2, 2003
Nice head lots of carbonization lots of tongue feel and a little throat feel malty flavor that stays with you but, a little tar like flavor, bitternes on first taste and swallow that stays with you long after beer is gone. freekyp (2257) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - FEB 21, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2009 Caramel in nose with a bit spicy hops. Mild hoppiness in swallow. Quickly dissipating head tops a crisp amber body. A good session lager equally at home with dinner or as a lawn mower beer. Nice balanced profile.
