Pours gold with a white head. Smells of wildflowers, grass, hay. Tastes of earth, toasted malt, tea, citrus. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - OCT 23, 2009
(bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold with a puffy white head. Aroma is floral and hoppy with lots of pine resin and citrus notes. Flavor is dry and grassy at the beginning with a very bitter and hoppy middle. Light citrus into the finish with a very dry and bitter aftertaste. Alright APA. yesyouam (1016) - Fairport, New York, USA - OCT 14, 2009
Saranac Big Moose Ale is clear and golden with a big, foamy, off white head that has some oily bubbles on it. The head stays put and leaves thick lacing all the way down the glass. The aroma is straightforward: grapefruit and pine. It smells really fresh. It’s medium light bodied and quite smooth. The finish is clean and dry. It tastes really simple. It’s all grapefruit peel and pine resin. There’s enough bitterness here to remind me that this is, in fact, a pale ale. This is sort of like if you made a simple home brew and everything went perfect. I can’t stress the simplicity of this one enough. I like that a lot. spkldhenlvr24 (517) - Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA - OCT 6, 2009
Bottle. Poured a clear golden body with a small fluffy white head. Aroma is bready, grapefruit and floral hops. Flavor is mildly hopped with a malty finish. Thin body with a tongue tingly mouthfeel. Decent APA.
