COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to pay homage to our founder’s homeland, our German-Style Schwarzbier is brewed true to style with a deliciously sweet malty flavor. It may be dark in color but it’s not heavy on roasted flavor like most people expect in a dark beer. BEER STYLE: Bavarian Black Beer MALT: Two-Row, Caramel HOPS: Mt Hood, Hallertauer ABV: 5.3%

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2004 Great thick beer. SOme people think it tastes like Guinness. I disagree. Hoppy at first then, a great finish with a hint of blueberry. Re-rate. This beer has some sentimental value. I still agree I taste some blueberry notes in there. Sticky fruity caramel malt aroma. Transparent mahogany with a robust light tan head. Malty, metallic, and hints of rubber. Very full bodied with lots of chocolate malts and hints of licorice and berries. Decreased original aroma from an 8 to a 7...decreased original flavor from a 9 to a 7 and decreased overall from a 17 to a 15.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2003 I used to drink this shizzy like a madman at a local club night in Buffalo..stuff was as cheap as a labatt blue..
Poured clear burnt amber with a thin head..Aroma was an orgy of fruit..naked strawberries, busty raspberries, shaven grapes..
Grape juice mouthful w/ delicate roasty notes..Light but not watery and could be a tad fuller IMO..but..definitely a good tasting black beer..delicate, tastey, and extremely grapey

A nice Schwarzbier. Actually deep red in color. Left good lacing. Had a nice long sweet finish with some roasty-dryness too.

Nice color with a long lasting head. The taste and mouth feel were a bit thin but not bad overall.

Blown color with just a touch of redness. Bone tan head. Mild hops and malt aroma. A dry caramel flavor with a touch of acidity. Dry finish toasty finish.

Coca-cola coloured, beige firm head. Hoppy aroma, cellar and soil tones. Bitter and sweet not much else

Outstanding coffee aroma with just as good a flavor. A bit thin for the flavor, but i think it's for the better. Not to filling but a solid body. Feels like i'm in a cool damp...black forest.

Sweet roasted malt aroma, but the flavor lacked the promise that the aroma gave. Light body, with just a hint of hops crispness. Easy drinking.

Reminded me of a black bavarian style beer. A lot of flavor and kick. Pretty smooth though.

Very rich garnet color with a pronounced caramel malt aroma. Medium smooth body with a bit of bitterness. Not as much sweetness as anticipated, but still good.
