COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to pay homage to our founder’s homeland, our German-Style Schwarzbier is brewed true to style with a deliciously sweet malty flavor. It may be dark in color but it’s not heavy on roasted flavor like most people expect in a dark beer. BEER STYLE: Bavarian Black Beer MALT: Two-Row, Caramel HOPS: Mt Hood, Hallertauer ABV: 5.3%

I bought three different 355ml bottles from this brewery at the USA bar provided by Bières Sans Frontières at GBBF. This one poured a deep, rosewood content under a beige foamy head. Sweet smell of caramel malts with hints of tart, dark fruits. Flavoured by malty sweetness with notes of yeast behind. Soft carbonated. A decent version of a black beer (hotel room, shared with Arild 05.08.2009).

courtesy of Allen - pours a very dark brown colour with a little beige foam left; toasted malts in the nose with some raisins and black chocolate; good malt body, tasty palate; aftertaste of dark fruits and toasted malts - pretty nice

j12601 (13297) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Bottle. Pours a deep black with a medium sized beige head. Sweet plum and a bit of oxidization on the nose over some dusty cocoa and roast. A touch thin, roast and cocoa, oxidization and papery malt. Just empty into the finish. Not a lot going on.
