COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Blueberry Blonde Ale is a traditional blonde with a kick of juicy blueberry. Youll notice a light golden haze from wheat malt and oats and a low hop bitterness, which really shows off the fruit. With a medium-light body and fresh blueberry flavor, were sure weve captured refreshment in a bottle! Cheers!

Bottle at our monthly bottle share. I had not expected much from this beer when I picked it up so cheaply for the size of the bottle, but it surprised me. Blueberry was very prominent on both the aroma and the flavor. It had a bit of chemical flavor on the finish.

32 ounce jug. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a hazy gold color with about a half inch white head that stuck around for a while. Theres a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like sweet malt, blueberries, and a bit of citrus. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes like sweet/grainy malt, artificial blueberry flavoring, and some lemon. Theres also a lightly bitter finish. Also, the blueberry was stronger in the aroma than it was in the taste. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it has a good amount of carbonation and its easy enough to drink. This one really didnt do anything for me, I think I would have liked it more if the blueberry flavor was stronger. With that being said, its worth a try at least once but its not something Id drink very often.

A hazy gold color from sample on tap at Square Bar. Aroma is already intimidating. Blueberry, lemon, spiced malts and grass. Not really able to stomach this one. Too sweet. Too malty.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed July 2, 2012. The appearance has a hazy golden colored body that gave a white, frothy, foamy head that appeared for a good thirty seconds. It left barely any lacing and some fast rising bubbles were seen. The smell had blueberries in front with some wheat in the back. The taste has blueberries up front; and in the back there are some bready malts that came out a bit with some light lemon. On the palate, it sits about a medium, shows no watery quality but leaves a good refreshingness all around. It has a nice sessionable quality to it. Overall, the blueberry comes out pretty strong, but hey I believe thats what Saranac wanted. Its still a pretty good beer that I would have it again.

Tastes like candy blueberry, sulfur, and pale malt. Not really something I'm into.

Malty aroma has a definite overtone of blueberry - and I love blueberries. Pours a typical clear yellow with a decent whitish head. Blueberry dominates, but does not overwhelm, the malty and refreshing flavor. It is a bit sweet, but fruity sweet and not overly so. Smooth, mildly fizzy texture leaves a nice blueberry finish. Good for a summer day - or an early autumn one. Or anytime of year.

Not as bad as I expected. Still a bit gassy. Blueberries abound, in a good way.Hazy pour, slight wheatgrass notes. Okay effort.

While theres nothing great going in here, theres nothing a can really rip this beer for. Its a nice hit of blueberry in both aroma & taste up front. It has a decent hazy pour w/ a white head that leaves some lacing. Its got alright flavoring & pretty good balance. Not even close to as terrible as I was expecting!

Bottle shared with my wife. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Big blueberries on the nose even as pouring, a bit artificial, but not terrible initially. Soft grain and blueberries. Medium-bodied, grain and more fake blueberry. Tastes like a grainy lager poured over a mediocre blueberry muffin. The kind that look like they have blueberries in them, but then you actually get into the thing and you find out that theyre just blue colored chunks with blueberry flavoring added and not actually blueberries. It tastes like that. Its not a good thing. Too sweet and grainy on the finish with more fake blueberries. Meh.
