This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a stiffly looking bronzed burnt brown color with a ruddy transparency about it. Thin white foamy head that quickly dissipated. No lacing.
The smell started off with some burnt caramel/toffee malts. Lights nuttiness. Some roast but turns into some toasty/breadiness.
The taste was moderately sweet with that crisp bready/toastiness to it. Lingering sweet bready aftertaste, moderately sweet toasty sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body. Good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light.
Overall, its a decent bock, mainly nothing over the top.
Amber to brown color. Not much dark malt aroma or flavor, though. Very malty like a typical heller bock, but with more hops than usual. A long lasting hop finish. Nice, though not too original. Hops added something. Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 28, 2009
Dark copper with a good head and decent lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and not much else. Flavor was thin and light. Tasted some hops and roasted grains, but there was no aftertaste or lasting flavor. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Bottle. Pours a copper body with an off white head. Sweet caramel malts, dusty hop character with some earth y notes. Light fruit notes and some tin. eh. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 6, 2009
Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells sweet and biscuity. Tastes of sweet malt with some tea and spicy hints.

Very nice. The aroma is definitely malt dominant, with some sweetness, and some bready nose. It’s a dark amber color, with a thin head. It’s flavor is a bit safe, but the sweet malts and honey do make themselves present. The beer is a minor bit hoppy at the end, but adequate, not overwhelming. A nice session bock. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - JAN 27, 2008
Bottle; quite a deal at 99 cents and it also gets me my second example of the style. Poured an orange caramel in color; nice looking. Aroma was pretty sweet, malty and bready. A little watery as others alluded to, but not too bad. Flavor wasn’t great; bread and honey with some peppery hoppiness. For me it wasn’t as good as the commercial description, but not as bad as some of the ratings here. BillKismet (4145) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2007
Medium-bronze color slight malt sugariness in aroma that translates similarly flavor. An easy-drinking, well-balanced bock that is a good intro. to the style. Pwn3d (1958) - Manhattan, New York, USA - AUG 16, 2007

Nothing special here, nice looking but tasted quite watery. Not dry enough for me and quite sweet. Bought in the winter seasonal varity pack.
