COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Caramel Porter is a robust, flavorful porter reminiscent of a by-gone era. True to brewing tradition, we've used dark caramel malt as well as Fuggles & East Kent Goldings hops for a smooth, yet slightly bitter, roasted flavor. Look for hints of real caramel used in brewing this delicious brew. Enjoy.

Dark and sweet. The caramel hits you immediately with hints of malt and toasted nut. It's almost too much caramel to be enjoyed as a regular drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance is a medium brown head with a dark brown. Aroma is strongly caramel. Taste is a little less caramel to be balanced with toasted malts. Overall pretty decent.

It certainly isn’t just a clever name. Rich caramel flavor in balance with the malts on board. Smooth, sweet aftertaste. Pours dark brown/black with a rich creamy head.

12oz bottle ---> glass-----> my stupid mouth. Aroma is nothing but artificial caramel! Not great. But...the overall impression of this thing is not too bad. Slightly sweet, caramel, almost no detectable hops. Smooth, but thin.

I didn’t like this at all. Too sweet, too thin, ill-conceived. It looks ok in the glass, and has a somewhat pleasant aroma, but this didn’tt work for me, at least not at that moment.

Aroma is caramel and nutty. Pours a clear dark brown with an off white head. Taste is caramel and spice. Pretty good.

Bottle from total wine sterling. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam that rapidly disappears. Artificial caramel and salty notes on the nose. The blend of caramel malt and slightly bitter finish doesn’t mesh as well as it could have or should have.

Strong sweet caramel and some nuttiness in aroma. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a strong sweetness. Not horrible, not really that great either.

12 oz. Deep, mahogany with a large creamy foam that lasts well. Sweet nose of caramel candy, with maybe a hint of apple and cherry. Flavor is caramelized sugar, vanilla, lightly tart cherry, and sweet chocolate fudge. Some mild roast on the finish. Medium body is sweet, almost cloying, and has a medium carbonation.
