2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a slightly hazy amber/color with about an inch of head. Aroma is caramel malt and bread. Taste follows the nose and is sweet with just a hint of bitterness. Body is medium and somewhat chewy. This is not what I expected from the style and is definitely more slanted towards the east coast/English style. If I didn’t know any better I would think this was a barleywine. This is a below average DIPA.
Bottle. As "Saranac Imperial IPA" - Reddish Orange in colour. Very Hoppy; piney and resinous hops, spicy peppery hops. Very fruity; zesty bitter orange, tangy marmalade. Malty backbone; toffee and caramel. Very bitter hoppy citrus fruity and dry throughout. OK, but nothing special. (2010-09)

Creamy and soft. tfontana (976) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 19, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Aroma is malty backbone with tropical fruity hops, light resin and slightly metallic smell. Appearance is light hazy orange-yellow with nice sparkle, 3 finger-width frothy head with good retention and soapy lacing. Taste is sweet malty base with tropical fruits and bitter ending. Palate is medium to full bodied with creamy texture, soft carbonation and dry, lightly bitter finish. Overall, all those malts and hops may just serve to cancel each other out as this is pretty nondescript in terms of aroma and taste. Appearance and palate are nice. Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Pours a nice hazy orange color with a tiny bit of white head. Aromas are mostly hops and mostly citrus hops. Initial taste is nice and smooth but leaves an odd hop profile. matty (417) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2015
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a thin white film of carbonation. Aroma is caramel with a strong presence of pine hops. Medium-full body, there is a bit of thickness with it. Taste leans heavily to the hop side with the caramel as a backbone. Finish is bitter and slightly dry.

4 pack on clearance from Jungle Jim’s eastgate. Saranac High Peaks Imperial IPA is a hazy honey golden beer with a thin persistent head of tiny white bubbles. Nose is a mild musty hop with a hint of sweet malts. Taste is initally a bit underwhelming. A little sharp hops, malty earthiness and a bit of subtle sweet malt. Body somewhat flat and fluid. Finish is just a bit bitter. a bit of a disappointing beer. Leafs93 (2305) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 6, 2015
Pours amber orange with a small slightly off white head. Aroma is citrus, caramel and earthy. Taste is bitter with some acidic tartness. Medium bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. Overall this decent imperial IPA but it is more malt heavy then expected. shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - OCT 11, 2015
