Bottle into a goblet pour. is a ruby red brown with a light head. Aroma is malt with a high co2 level. Taste is a very bitter malt. Finish lasts a long time, its co2 malt.

12 oz bottle from the sampler case. This is a very weak clone like average Irish red that pales in comparison to the top shelf models.

The body has a rich amber color with a slight reddish hue and good clarity. On top sits a small cap of off white foam. This head quickly fades to a ring of lace foam that is slick and sides down the sides of the glass. Its aroma is very light with only very slight hints of biscuit like malt and herbal/dried leafy hops. The flavor is very simple and safe. There is a modest bready and biscuit like maltiness with some light hints of red apple skins and caramel like sweetness. Mixed into the malt is a weak dried leafy hop presence. The finish is fairly dry, quick and has mild hop bitterness with just a slight acidic touch. The palate feels light to medium bodied with a smooth mild carbonated texture. Overall it’s not bad but to me, it is rather simple and light.

Found the notes on this one too. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a decent hazy red color with a half finger’s worth of white foaminess of head. The head died within about a minute and left some stringy lacing sticking finely to the glass. The smell had a fair amount of roasted caramel malts and lets in some toffee as it warms. The taste was mainly roasty and sweet and combines through the malts. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and showed a decent sessionability. Overall, I say this was a fairly good Irish Red ale worthy of having again.

From BA review on 1-31-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance - A deep red-brown color which formed a nice billowing white head upon pouring. It persisted for some time before giving way to a thin film on the brew, leaving just a bit lacing on the glass. Smell – A light sweet aroma of caramel and a bit of malty breadiness. The aroma is relatively light and not too potent. Taste – After sampling the aroma I didn’t think it would be too much, but actually this had much more flavor then I would have expected. Biscuit maltiness, mixed with a slight bit of caramel starts the taste. The caramel flavor intensifies as time goes on. A nice flavorful beer at only 4.5 % abv. The caramel maltiness makes it very tasty. Mouthfeel – The thicker caramel and bready backbone of the brew seem to bolster this beers body making it relatively creamy. It has a very nice level of carbonation, which when combined with its body makes it very drinkable and enjoyable. Overall – This is quite a nice brew. Very flavorful and drinkable.

Not so much for me. A kind of cardboardy malty aroma. Overly carbonated, malty beer. Unpleasant aftertaste.

Pours reddish brown with a white head. Aroma is caramel and not much else. Taste is sweet with a trace bitterness. Medium bodied. Not Saranacs best, seemed almost watered down.

Bottle. Pours copper with minimal head. Caramel, roasted malts on the nose, lots of caramel malts is the taste. Pretty simple, not offensive but nothing stands out.

10/4/2013. From bottle. Copper color with a short white head. Sweet aromas of caramel, roasted malt. Caramel and barley flavors, somewhat watery and thin.

Bottle - via Ale in the Mail. Deep copper-red color. Mostly clean aroma. Pretty good - mostly malty with some crystal malt flavor and some hops.
