COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Saranac Lake Effect Lager is a rich, malty, old school German lager, made with traditional German malts and hops and fermented with a lager yeast. Look for a rich but smooth malty taste, balanced by an impressive Hallertau hopping - A nice reward for enduring our winter months.

12 oz bottle. Pours a thin caramel color with a moderate off white head. Smells of grass, malt, and earthy. Tastes nutty, grassy, and slightly malty. Pretty good lager.

12oz bottle, thanks to hillbert This pours a medium brown with a nice looking off-brown head. It’s a nice looking brew. The aroma is grainy and the flavor is a bit nutty, with maltiness. This is a very easy drinking beer and a good session beer.

Bottle no. 2790-1009. It has a handsome looking dark amber pour with considerable head and good retention. Pearly, upwardly mobile carbonation can be seen. The aroma has a nice maltiness with a faint but somewhat unique hoppiness mixed in. The taste has a nice bitter bite to it. Easy to drink.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of roasted malt and nut. Mahogany, tan head. Malt and nut flavors come through in the flavor. Caramel notes as well. Creamy feel. Nicely drinkable. Good finish. Well done brew.

Pours a clear reddish brown color with a large off-white head. Goodhead retention and lacing. Aromas of choco, faint raisin and even fainter hops. The taste is bitter hops, caramel, chocolate, raisin. Medium bodied mouthfeel I would drink this one again.

12oz bottle. Deep red-brown color. Steady off-white/beige head. Fresh, doughy, brewhouse aroma. Some amber vanilla tones, caramel, toffee. An odd pungency doesn’t quite sit well with me. I’d really expect Saranac to excel at smooth, clean Lagers, but this one is pretty weak. Medium bodied, some smooth malt tones, but overall kind of a mess.

Pours darker than I’d anticipated, foamy cream head. Dry aroma, mostly bread and yeast. Flavor is very solid. Good malt presence with a nice hop balance. Good warming beer for a cold winter evening.

Not bad. Aroma is carmel and vanilla. Body is alittle thing and taste is alittle watery. Flavor of roasted malts and hints of sweetness. Slight hop finish but mostly malty.... not a bad one.

Figured I’d choke down some lake effect snow with lake effect lager. Tea and grainy nose. Clear amber, thick clingy lacing. Smooth sweet smoky palate. Clean and well balanced. A nice straight-ahead dunkel.

Pours dark orange-brown with a white head that did not last long. Aroma is caramel malt and some light hops. Flavor is sweet malts with a sweet yet slightly hoppy finish. This had some body to it. Decent. The in-laws had the variety pack at their Thanksgiving day party.
