I was very suprised that this beers overall rating isnít higher. I really enjoyed this fruit beer. It wasnít too fruity and had a very nice aroma to it. jtclockwork (16443) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Pours amber in the glass. Nose and taste of all kinds of berries, honey and malts. Rated 6/17/02 cfranz (261) - Acton, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 1, 2005
Pours nice and red, small head. Malty and fruity - definitely some berry action going on in here. Aroma is lemony. Good aftertast. Came in a summer variety twelve pack. Like most Saranac beers, decent beer for a decent price. Rballs01 (282) - Madison, New Jersey, USA - APR 18, 2005
Poured a nice dark red-amber. Hints of berry and sugar on the nose. Poured with a slightly frothy head which soon disapears. The taste isnít what i expected. Not too much fruit flavor. Mildly sweet from the honey addition. Nothing to exciting from saranac this summer.

Small white head over a reddish color. Iím smelling almost sour fruit.
Taste is something different. Lots of haters here apparently of this taste, but this is kind of super tart and vaguely has fruit flavors, all with a touch of sourness. Raspberries and blackberries are my two favorite fruit ever. Combine this with an almost Berliner Weisse tart/sourness....Iím strangely liking this.
Definitely not for everyone

I actually rather enjoyed this beer. It isnt exactly a top tier beer, but i enjoyed it kind of the same way you enjoy cheap champagne on New Yearís. It tasted good, went down easy, and did the trick for throwin some back during a poker game. Plus all the non-craft-beer drinkers there really enjoyed it. dankfor20 (193) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 17, 2002
Nice red color. Not as fruity as i expected but still taste pretty smooth. ClarkVV (6642) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 10, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2006 Oh boy, Im thinking. this is going to be disgustingly sweet. BUT, it wasnt. very subtle berry notes and SURPRISE actually has some body and bitterness to it. VERY impressed with this one. CJfromPhilly (140) - Aston, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2005
Pours from the bottle a reddish amber with a foamy two finger head that settles into a thin layer. It has the usual Saranac high carbonation. Very malty aroma thatís on the sweet side. Taste is of unsweetened fruit juice with some malt in the background. Finish is light and fruity. I was prepared to dislike this since (with a couple of exceptions) iím not a fan of fruit beers/lambics, but this is pretty good. Light & refreshing, the fruit & honey are toned down enough to keep this very drinkable. From the summer 12-pack, a nice refresher for a hot summer day.
