COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Pale Ale is a classic English Pale Ale brewed with six specialty malts and aggressively-hopped with hand-selected English Kent Goldings & Fruggles hops. Look for a rich fruity hop bouquet. A copper amber color and a smooth, full-flavored taste with a crisp finish that only comes from a genuine top fermented ale. Enjoy!

Orange copper color with a tan head. Soft floral hop aroma with traces of malt sweetness. A rather wide ranging bitterness with a somewhat salty finish. Slight gritty texture and a tad roasty.

Tom Servo (424) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - AUG 28, 2002
Okay for the price, but nothing to write home about. Probably won't try it again.

no ones getting any medals for this beer, but its worth drinking. nice amber color with a medium bodied fruity taste.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 21, 2002
Nice english pale overall, although it was a little on the light side for flavor and color. Sure there are better pales, and I would rather have an american style anyday, but this is still a good beer. Very refreshing.

I've had some better pale ales by far, but you have to give some points to saranac who make every type of beer ever known and do it reasonably well.

I didn't like one bit! not one bit at all. Nope, not one bit at all. To bad this is what upstate New yorkers call a decent beer.

3.6
SJP (483) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 11, 2002
Amber color with a thick off-white head. Floral hops aroma leads to a nicely hopped crisp flavor with a somehwat dry finish. Not the best, but still quite good and enjoyable.

Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 11, 2002
Orange amber color with a medium thick head. the aroma is sweet and hoppy and the flavor is sweet with a hoppy finish.

3.4
benzim (36) - USA - AUG 1, 2002
Nice crisp, mildly hoppy pale ale. Not as good as Sierra Nevada, but much cheaper.

3.9
wilkie (1208) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUL 31, 2002
Quite aromatic--probably the EKG hop presence. Full bodied coppery flavor, amberish-brown in color. Malt and hops balanced well. Crisp finish with a bold bitterness, but no bad aftertaste. The best of the beer's features is price. At 5$ a sixer, it easy to overlook any faults the beer has. The truth is, however, that it really is a good beer.
