2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Shared. Amber white foam.sweet nose of caramel, pumpkin, spices. Light mouthfeel. Caramel, cinnamon, pumpkin.clean aftertaste. Drinkable!
I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, dark orange with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma is pumpkin and spice. The taste is somewhat sour pumpkin, apple, and some spice. The palate was kinda thin and had a somewhat metallic taste to it. This was okay. It’s definitely not one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had. Jimlongisland (1) - Centerport, New York, USA - OCT 17, 2016 does not count
This beer is awful. I have been home-brewing for over 20 years and spent 6 mos working in a microbrewery. I usually make my own Pumpkin Ale mashed with real pumpkin. Over the years I have bought a number of Pumpkin Ales which were OK. This year I bought Saranac, a brand I often like.
It is awful. It has no head. I detect a highly perfumed frontal taste and the back taste is chocolate chalk. I gave this to my wife and she actually gagged. radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - OCT 17, 2016
12 oz bottle (not the jug) into pint glass, clear copper-amber color with tan head. Aroma notes of strong pumpkin spices(cinnamon, nutmeg heavy) and caramel malt sweetness. Taste adds clove, ginger, pumpkin earthiness, some nuttiness and light citrus. Light-medium body, low-moderate carbonation, thin, tad dry with light fall spice finish. Decent lighter pumpkin ale. finn1918 (234) - Georgia, USA - OCT 8, 2016
32 oz mini growler. Clear filtered brown with some frothy white head. Not much aroma, maybe some pumpkin spice and faint malts. Goes down smooth. Drinkable and forgettable for the basic b*tch in all of us. SteveOrz85 (249) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2016
12 oz single picked up at the Wegmans. Poured in tulip glass. Beer is clear orange color with thin white head. Some light lacing. Aroma is faint but contains the typical fall spice notes along with some very faint pumpkin notes. Taste is pleasent and smooth with mellow spice notes especialy nutmeg and some cinnamon. Beer is a bit thin bodied. Average to light carbonation. Overall a smooth light and enjoyable pumpkin beer that has not been over saturated with spices. Not nearly the best pumpkin I have had but far from the worst.

In the 32 ounce mini-growler, pours the color of iced tea with a great deal of foam. The aroma is slightly citrus with pumpkin notes. The flavor is thin and nothing special. Not awful, but not that good. An average ale with a synthetic pumpkin spice finish. When Saranac’s S’mores Porter came out in 32 ounce growlers for five bucks, I bought one figuring that the little growler itself was worth that. I was surprised and really happy when the porter that came in that growler was delicious. I rolled the dice on the pumpkin ale in the 32 ounce jug for five bucks this time, and this time all I really got out of the deal was the neat little growler. Still, at the price, I can’t complain too much. Jrwhitney6 (496) - - MAR 6, 2016
May be past its peak as drinking it in March. Pours an ice tea color with no head at all. Nose is pumpkin, spice, cinnamon. Taste is some pumpkin, and some alcohol - which is odd given this is not an imperial. Maybe a little artificial tasting. It's ok - had better pumpkin ales, but have had far worse beers, too.

Pours a clear copper color with a distinct pumpkin aroma. Taste is minor pumpkin with a filtered water flavor. Clean tasing with a small clove and light cinnamon in the aftertaste. George999 (457) - Colorado, USA - NOV 1, 2015
From the 32oz bottle the pour is golden and light auburn in color with an aroma that is tinny with spice, the taste is pumpkin spice a little brown sugar not a lot of pumpkin in the flavor very mild, the mouthfeel is medium with a clean finish that is very carbonated. Pour from a 32oz mini-growler, obtain on the raod around Albany, NY. Clear amber brew with fizzy white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of pumpkin spices and some sort of odd vegetable note that I can’t quite place. Taste is weak, water up front, maybe a little sweet, then a decent emergence of cinnamon and nutmeg. A little sweetness would have enhanced the spice a lot. Ends as it begins - watery and weak. Palate is thin and watery.
