12oz bottle 7/27/13 (12 Beers of Summer 12pk)-Pours a hazy light amber with a small white covering. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste of hops, rye, and malt. This medium bodied brew does not have a big rye presence but is not too shabby. BREWMUSKCLES (2731) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 25, 2013
bitter finish this has black good pepper thru out. bottom of bottle has the settle so.... smooth and foamy with airy mouth feel that is not light. citrus grapefruit and some lemony sweetness. hampale (118) - Jaffrey, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 22, 2013
Rather disappointing - not much in the way of hops or rye. I was looking for a good dose of rye spiciness but didn’t find it. More like a normal IPA than a Rye one. Glad I had purchased only a single bottle. SSSteve (4006) - - JUL 20, 2013
bottle from mix pack. clear pale gold with a large white head. sweet canned orange syrup aroma. lots of fruity hops in the flavor. the rye isn’t as spicy as usual. very basic, simple ipa. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - JUL 12, 2013
November 2009. Not much of anything going on with this beer. Some weak malt aromas with caramel, but that is about it.

Thin off-white head of fine bubbles. Light corn aroma with some spices and weak malts. Rather bland aroma. Color is a light golden brown. Some rye in the flavor along with dry malts and a bit of astringent bitterness. Finishes light bitterness and some spices. A rather bland and unimpressive brew bt will likely go over well with the masses. BeerFanDan17 (1122) - Brunswick, Maine, USA - JUN 30, 2013
A slight hint of rye and/or carraway seeds. Very faint hoppiness and not too impressive a flavor.

Bottle at home, from Summer Variety Pack. Muted rye aroma. Piney hops profile, sticky mouth feel. Bitter, spicy, finish. Lacks oomph. jrodooo5 (1706) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - JUN 21, 2013
Another passable yet mediocre Saranac offering. Decent aroma of spicy hops. Average golden pour with a nice white head that leaves good lacing. It’s fairly light on the palate as it really isn’t all that flavorful. I’m not getting much rye at all or even a traditional IPA hop taste. It’s more like a spicy ale. Ok. Very faint rye aroma, pours a clear amber with a quickly fading white head. There’s more rye in the flavor then in the aroma, but there’s still not a lot. The best of the beer is in the finish, where there’s a nice blend of hop bitterness and rye spice. This is really a middle of the road beer, it’s drinkable, but nothing special.
