Bottle at a tasting at Matt’s place. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet caramel and graininess on the nose, soft sweet toast, a bit of dusty hops. Grainy, sweet with some caramel and some light earthy hops. Moves into a long bitterness. As with most Saranac beers, this is not terrible. jtclockwork (16685) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle shared by Jay at Zach and Matt’s 4/20 IPA tasting. Pours clear yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of grass, light hop water and light grain. No flavor. Light bodied. podey (638) - New York, New York, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle at Zach & Matt’s tasting. POurs clear yellow with small white head. Aroma is slightly skunky; some malt and hops but not much going on. Taste is slightly grassy and grainy and somewhat watery. This did not taste like an IPA. adamhorror (84) - USA - MAR 28, 2013
Pours a medium copper color nice thick and bubbly head. Glass held a great amount of lace. Aroma is fruity, lemon and banana, a bit yeasty (lemon banana bread). Taste is a bit on the malty side, a slight bitterness, lacks typical hoppiness bitter, but very well accepted. Palate is lemon and slight yeast.

Moderate apple malt aroma. Lightly hazy with a medium white head. Lightly sweet beginning that quickly develops a bitter malt finish.

From a 22 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a cloudy gold with a white head that recedes leaving lots of lacing. Feint hop aroma. Flavors of resiny pine and grass. Not the best combo of hop flavors. Bitter finish. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small white head. Nose is somewhat hoppy with a bit of a malt undertone to it. Taste is somewhat bitter with some floral notes coming through, but well-balanced. jb (3267) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Missed this 1st time around. Luckily Ron clued me in that Nathaniel’s corner store had it. Doesn’t look like much, gold, clear, little head, minimal lacing. Nose is grassy, light pine. But it picks up finally in the palate. Full bodied, spicy, hoppy, satisfying. AskForJenny (1086) - Ontario, New York, USA - JAN 16, 2013
I liked it better as it warmed. Abrupt at first, too bitter, but calmed down with time
