Saranac Wet Hop IPA is a specially brewed beer made with locally grown New York State Heirloom and Cascade hops. These hops were hand picked by friends of Saranac to create this one of a kind, delicious Double IPA. Brewed less than 24 hours after picking, you’ll notice the distinct hop freshness and citrusy herbal flavor. Your taste buds will stand up and take notice!

Bottle shared by Jay at Zach and Matt’s 4/20 IPA tasting. Pours clear yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of grass, light hop water and light grain. No flavor. Light bodied.

Bomber from HalfTime. Pours light golden/orange amber with a transient white head. Aroma of light citrus and some herb/veg. Med body. Flavor is rather herbal with some background citrus. It’s a good hoppy beer, but at 7% I don’t think it qualifies as imperial/double. Finishes dry and pretty bitter.

Bottle at a tasting at Matt’s place. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet caramel and graininess on the nose, soft sweet toast, a bit of dusty hops. Grainy, sweet with some caramel and some light earthy hops. Moves into a long bitterness. As with most Saranac beers, this is not terrible.

Bomber. Pours a clear copper color with a larg white head. A light sweet caramel and rusty nose. A light sweet flavor, some caramel, light perfume. Little hops. Hurt by the style listing. Not an ipa or iipa. Drinkable.

jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 1, 2012
Draft at Pony Bar HK with Linh and Vi. Pours an amber body with white lacing. Aroma is plain - maybe some muted malts, lots of caramel, and grainy lager notes. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of grain, somehwat offensive. Not an IPA, no where near a double IPA. Awful.

Hansen (8621) - Assentoft, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2013
Amber coloured and faint hazy. Has a white head. Aroma is light sweet, fruity, some wet herbs, vegetables. Flavor starts light sweet, finish heavy to harsh bitter.

PhillyCraft (8196) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Tap Wet hop ipa... Sounds good doesn’t it? Well this beer is so terrible and unlike any ipa you would wanna drink that I’m not going to waste more then a sentence or two on it. Aromas and taste of heavy malt, booze, lager grains, spicy wood. No hop freshness or herbal citrus in my glass.
