12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized white head. Some fruitiness, grassy, and earthy. Quick3Beers (1516) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 1, 2015
Pours a slightly hazy dark straw from a bottle. Not much of an aroma, a bittersweet graininess flavor, like a sourdough bread a little bit, good and refreshing. Good beer. shadey (2171) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - APR 2, 2015
12oz bottle. Pour is golden with minimal head of tiny bubbles. Aroma is mostly sweet thick malts and just a touch of hops. Flavors are full, complex, and clean. Tasty and refreshing. Iznogud (4730) - CROATIA - FEB 22, 2015

UPDATED: APR 25, 2015 poured from brown bottle into a pilsner glass at home
A: A gentle pour yields a one finger head of whitish head which leaves pretty quickly leaving nice lacing on the glass, lasting intact at the end of the glass. Lovely straw to amber yellow color and a great degree of clarity.
Carbonation present in streams and is persistent.
S: Very nice with an earthy hop pungency. A bit strong for what it is but sharp and eye opening.
T: Follows the nose closely with this fat herbaceousness to the hops. Not very strong but definitely front & center. Citrusy springs to mind but mainly just uniquely tart. Malts are understated and clean, letting the hops shine through. A nice bit of crackers or pretzel on the finish. Lemony and refreshing.
M: Not much happening. Very light as expected with a really nice bubbly tingle. Bitter but subtle aftertaste. Leaves the mouth feeling clean with minimal stickiness.
O: As a lover of pilsners in general, I have to say I regard this one quite highly. Light and refreshing enough for the mower or the card table. Complex enough in flavor to keep me interested without any cloying sweetness or hopping me all about the head & shoulders.
The price is nice in my area as well, usually $8/6.
This year’s beer has been renamed Saranac Summer Pils and tastes quite different. Not as fruity/citrusy in the nose or taste with instead a more resinous hop quality. Malts maybe a bit more doughy now than bready. All in all, almost but not quite as good. Rating tweaked to reflect.

This is an interesting Pils. This is definitely full-bodied. The hops are quite robust and almost chewy. But I find the overall character or body of the beer to be lacking. It reminds me a little of Sam Adams Noble Pils, and I actually might like this Saranac brew better. MadRobin (2989) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Poured from 12 oz. bottle. This bottle was marked down dramatically, so it has probably seen too much shelf time.
Slightly hazy, golden yellow with a fine near-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of pungent fruit, grass, citrus, pale malt and green apples.
Taste of hay, grain, lemon, floral hops, light fruit and mustiness.
Light/medium body and high carbonization.
This probably was better when it was fresher. It comes across as a very hoppy pilsner. However, I'm not sure that is a desirable style. In this particular case, the hop flavors den a bit strange.

Clean lager aroma with some grassy notes. Very slightly hazy medium yellow color with a small foamy white head. Good biscuit malt flavor and a drying slightly astringent hop bitterness. Very light lemon/citrus taste in the background. Overall fairly light in body and flavor (which is appropriate), but quite enjoyable and very refreshing. Nik925 (800) - USA - OCT 4, 2014
Interesting aroma. Palate is okay. Flavor is pretty lacking. Interesting . Sure, the hops taste a bit different. Meh
