Bottle: Pours a deep copper/bronze with perfect clarity and a tan film of head. Malty, firm aroma- mildly sweet with a hearty Vienna/amber Munich malt biscuity presence- bready. Creamy carbonation- but it’s slightly thin bodied. Nice clean toasted Vienna malt flavor. Biscuity and toasted with a bready quality and mild peppery noble hop notes. A nice session with no off flavors (minus a touch a metallic character I get in many of the Saranac lineup. Goes well with pretzels. blipp (9696) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 22, 2009

A pretty solid winter lager right here, on par with Sam Adams, etc. Pretty malty and smooth, a little sweetness, finishes very crisp with a bit of hops. Great to sip by the fire as you watch the snow fall. PhatB420 (855) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 7, 2009
From the 12 beers o winter sampler, which is great, this is another solid saranac brew that settles in the kettle with an abundance of malts smacking you in the face. A homey winter esque feeling fills the room when sipped and enjoyed. Great after hours of tobogganing. Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 3, 2009
