Leighton (21254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 14, 2010
Bottle. Pours a nice amber-brown with a medium, off-white head. Nose is heavy on the malts. More malty sweetness in the flavor, with caramel, light brown sugar and toffee. Faint hops of the earthy variety. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, semi-sticky finish. Not bad overall.

MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 11, 2010

DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2010
Bottle from Winter 09 variety pack. Deep coppery brown pour w 2f tan head. Nose is earthy c malkt, some spices, hops. Tastes fairlly rich, w some hops, mild spicy peppery notes, and some finishing Wheaties. A decent cold weather beer, and this one went rather quickly out of the variety 12 pack, which is a relative indicator of its decency.

phaleslu (10263) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 23, 2010
12 oz. bottle from a mixed pack from A-1 Liquor in Indianapolis. Pours a semi-cloudy brown amber color with an active off-white head. Notes of caramel malts, nuts, brown sugar, earthy hops, and wet leaves. Light bodied, with average carbonation and a mouthfeel that would be sweet and nutty if not for the fact that it’s too watered down. Why hold it back? There’s a better beer here somewhere.

JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2010
Amber pour with a nice tight white head. The nose is fairly swet with a bit of light toasty character. There is also a bit of light herbal hoppiness. Slightly nutty with a kiss of light woodiness. Fairly pronounced hop flavour and a lean to moderate bitterness. It’s okay.

blipp (9268) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 22, 2009
Bottle. Amber with an off white head. Toasty malty aroma with some grainy notes. Clean malty flavor, with some light grainy and toasty notes, and a hint of hops. Pretty good.

Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - DEC 30, 2009
12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with thin loose off white head. The mild aroma has some malts with caramel hints and some lager yeast notes. The taste tries to be refreshing but a descent load of malty caramel and roast weigh on the experience. Behind those notes are thin layers of lager yeast and grains. Don’t know what makes this a “winter” beer

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 29, 2009
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a nut brown-amber color with a large tan head. The aroma was tangy, sour lager with a touch of nut, vague fruits and mint. The flavor was tangy, malty and nutty with a faint note of caramel and a light fruity hop presence. The finish was moderate length sour and tangy malts. Medium body. Ok.
