On tap at the brewpub. A clear deep golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of mild sweet malt, mild grainy malt. Taste of mild sweet caramelish malt, biscuit, medium spicy hops. Okay!

Draught at Brauerei Sauer Rottenbach: Radiant golden. Well-retained wispy foam. Lovely aroma of claylike yeastiness, minerals, toasted baguette, lemon, and vibrant flower petals. Soft pinpricks of carbonation. Opens with a toasty grip of pils malt, which reveals a polished grassiness and fresh baguette amid subtler oily flower-petal notes. Finely extracted pils malt steadily increases in lusciousness, as the hops dazzle the palate with their lemony acids. Finishes with a scratchy mineral suggestion along with bouncy baguette, toasted hay, and lingering oily hoppiness. Overall a very clean and slammable Hell that’s replete with elegant maltiness, even if I’d love to see more dynamism and character. Quiet, but undeniably well-constructed.

Golden color with a thin white head that quickly disappear and keep a thin lace. Aroma is weak, notes of malt and bread. Flavor is a little bit sweet with hints of malt, hops and slightly yeast. Medium to high carbonation and medium bodied, sweet hop mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone 4S

Sehr süffiges Bier. Leicht malziger antrunk. Etwas viel bittere aber gut für sonnige Tage

From draft at Brauerei Sauer Rottenbach.
Surprisingly toasty and characterful malt, caramelized sugars, light touches of phosphorus / match stick and granite. Spicy lemon pepper, hard mineral water carbonation. Nice buttered baguette quality... rich malt. Body is medium, fuller than you typically find in helles. Hops are juicy and lemon-y. Lively hard carbonation. Juicy malt body... Lovely, really impressive ingredient expression. A pale malt beauty.

Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 7, 2011

(bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, pale golden colour with a moderate blonde foamy head. Slightly sweet grainy malt aroma with hay and slightly spicy herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft on carbon, smooth mouthfeel. Malt-accented, soft-grainy taste with rounded herbal notes; moderately dry and bitter finish with a delicate hops character and a light grainy aftertaste. Clean and decent stuff.

pivnizub (10906) - Bochum, GERMANY - SEP 10, 2007
Bottle (purchased at the brewery): Clear, golden, small creamy foam, , grainy-malty nose with a tinge of hops; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; quite dry bitter-malty finish. A rather hop-accented Helles.......
