COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial stout aged in oak bourbon barrels. This imperial stout will take your breath away. Black Pearl Necklace is smooth and creamy, with a big flavor and heavy body. Brewed with new Black Pearl malt, de-husked to give the roasty characteristics without the bitterness. Top off the bourbon notes derived form barrel aging, Pacific Gem hops were used to add a unique blackberry flavor and aroma.Youll be left asking for more.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a very large tan head that dissipates slowly leaving a lot of puffy residual and clingy lacing. Aroma is dusty, roasty, dirty, bourbon and cocoa. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, watered down bourbon, dusty roasty floor sweepings. Medium body, high carbonation. This one went rogue farmhouse, and not in a good way.

Bottle: Black hole black, void of all color with a huge, creamy tan froth that piles up on top. Aroma of chocolate, sweet cocoa nibs, oak chips, moderately astringent roast, a touch of vanilla, dark fruit... Very little bourbon character. Sweet chocolate flavor with lots of vanillin, oily coconut, & a bit of dense oak. Still, the bourbon character itself is quite mild. Licorice, molasses, anise, some dark prune towards the finish with a hint of roast that comes in sharply & abruptly. Mildly acrid at times, but overall not bad. Somewhat thin body, would like more bourbon presence for sure.

Countbeer (6558) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2015
Bomber: Thanks Moyman: Served at cellartemperature in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized creamy beige head on top of a black beer. Pretty strange, the aroma is pretty far away, just some hints of mocha, bourbon, light chocolate... Flavour is also pretty strange but not strangely wrong! Some bitters with a light light tart ish tone (blackberry?) mocha, soft roast, light bourbon, light vanilla, light chcolate, light herbal tone... Missing something... Missing more. Quite easy but nothing exciting... Aftertaste is bitter, light tart ish tone, some herbal tones, light roast and some citrus/chocolate/dryness sprinkles. Low carbo, light creamy close to silky mouthfeel and a more than medium bodied. Very easy drinking beer, bit more body and sould would kick it.

Almost black in color, brown head. Overly roasty, bitter, tar, boozy. This is not so great folks.

Bottle thanks to mrebeks for sharing. Pours dark brown with a small foamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a some light roast and noticeable alcohol. Taste is pretty harsh on the alcohol. Light chocolate and licorice are there too. Moderate alcohol burn in the finish.

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, black licorice, roasted coffee, and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin soapy film. The flavor starts with chocolate and a touch of vanilla. The finish has roasted coffee and a touch of oak. Its medium bodied with moderate-lively carbonation.

when I first opened the bottle and poured it into my glass I thought where is the bourbon, If I am having a bourbon aged beer the bourbon should be right out in front and a good quality barrel. First impression was weak watery not much going on with this beer. Than as it warmed the flavors came out. with this beer I am glad the bourbon was the dominate aroma and flavor, this is a nice smooth and easy drinking beer. wish I had several more

Bottle. Aroma has notes of smoke and oak, roasted malts, sweet blackberry jam and toast, vanilla and bourbon. Interesting but a bit heavy on the smoke. Black in the glass with an average tan hue that left good lace. Flavor is very sweet and heavy bitterness on the finish. Palate is very full bodied and oily soft. Medium bitter finish. Overall a nice Impy with a complex aroma that gets better as it warms. An impressive brew from a brewery thats punching above its weight class.

Bought this one on a whim. My first from the brewery and I thought it was great. Very dark pour with a nice head. Really nice aroma and flavors. Would definitely get this again. The price is a little high unfortunately.
