Draft. Smokey chocolate-coffee malt aroma. Black with moderate, long lasting tan head. Smooth coffee and barley malt flavor with bitter ashy finish. Low carbonation. Very good. jcr (2779) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Draft, Deep brown body with a nitro tan head. Aroma of roasted grain, smoke, ash, coffee, chocolate with a hint of nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, moderate carbonation. Dray finish. Taste of roasted malt and coffee. The aroma is better than the flavor. cbfobes (2887) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2011
On tap at brewpub, pours a clear dark brown with a thick creamy head, the aroma is roasty with a hint of chocolate, the flavor was extremely creamy with a touch of coffee inthe finish, thin mouthfeel, really didn’t dig this one. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2011
black with frothy tan head, lots of lace. nose of sweet malt. flavor of sweet malt with a trace of roastiness. medium bodied, sweet finish. a pretty pedestrian stout, i think. esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 16, 2011
On nitro at the Saugatuck brewpub. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a creamy slowly fading brown crown. Aroma of oatmeal, toasted malt and grains. Creamy and smooth as you’d expect with oatmeal, roasted malt and mildly bitter coffee. Average for the style.
