12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 11/2015. Slight gusher, but not bad. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, brown sugar, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, coffee, smoke, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, brown sugar, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, coffee, smoke, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Light roasted bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, brown sugar, dark/brown bread, light coconut/coffee, and roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel flavors; with a nice roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is awesome. Minimal chalky roast, oak tannins, or dryness. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.9%. Overall this is an incredible BBA American stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the very mildly bitter/tannic finish. Perfectly integrated barrel complexities from all 4 bourbon barrels. Very rich malt complexity for the modest ABV, without being acrid or overly roasty. The elevated carbonation seemed to smooth out the mouthfeel and make it feel very silky/lush, which was interesting. A highly enjoyable offering. This held up amazingly well for the ABV for being almost 2 years old. JaBier (8112) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUN 4, 2016
Bottle from a friend. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and bourbon. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some bourbon warmth before a sweet chocolate finish. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 30, 2016
355ml bottle. Dark brown pour. Not feeling this one, it has not an infection jsut a strange character, some booziness. Something is off. AWISLguy (3234) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2016
12oz embossed bottle from Jim’s in Mundelein served at cellar temperature. A bit of a gusher on opening. Shrug? Refrigerate a few days? The available 7-8oz were dark brown with a brown head. Caramel. Big vanilla/bourbon nose. Some chocolate. Mildly roasty. Not too heavy, but what is in is whiskey-tasty and solid. Interesting effort from a quality brewer. 14.1

On tap at Poor Phil’s in Oak Park, IL., and dispensed to a large snifter, showing a ruby highlighted, black/brown hue, with a frothy layer of brownish tan head foam that gradually reduced to a persistent ring & film, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, light grain & maltiness, with cocoa, some dryness, and touches of bourbon & barrel. Medium bodied, with fair carbonation that stung the tongue with some pleasant spritz, the taste added a touch of sweetness, roasted, earthy, and tannic bitterness, with some finishing tartness. Perplexed a bit by the modest bourbon & barrel influence after 10 months, medium body, and moderate abv.. Would have been blown away by a more robust approach, but pretty tasty, anyway. zebra (2206) - Illinois, USA - JAN 6, 2016

Tap at Grizzly’s in Plymouth, MN. Very dark opaque dense pour with a creamy rocky head. Nice sweet bourbon and mild roast aroma. Smooth palate, not terribly heavy, but nice. Taste brings some whiskey sweetness.
