Do not be confused by the name ESB. It’s more of an Amber then an ESB. Their flagship brew will keep me coming back for more. irishbrewguy (5) - Holland, Michigan, USA - AUG 7, 2014 does not count
Nice golden amber color with carb just right. Maltiness comes through in nose. Taste complex maltiness with good balance. Finishes with a bit of bitterness coming through. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Incredibly surprised by the low ratings on this one. Very flavorful. Slippery like an ESB should be. But, there’s a toasty malt profile that knocks this one out of the park. Highly recommended. Frozer (241) - Illinois, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Poured dark amber with nice fluffy white head. Complex malt aroma. Caramel. Sweet maltiness, complex flavor also. Medium carbonation, with very little hops. Nicely balanced esb. superspak (6232) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAY 27, 2014
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly cloudy orange amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduced to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, orange zest, apple, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, orange zest, apple, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and toast/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy/herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, orange zest, apple, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and toast/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good ESB style. Good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Draft at the brewery. Crystal clear copper with a small head. Bready, sweet, toffee aromas with similar flavors. Adubs (8) - Columbus, Indiana, USA - JUN 6, 2014 does not count
Dark amber pour with plenty of slightly offwhite head. Nothing special with aroma but nice mouth feel and super smooth. Maybe a bit creamy feeling. Not as bitter as their description or other ESBs I've had.
12 oz bottle
