A good standard porter with a dark pour and chocolate coffee undertones. It pales in comparison with the stouts and porters available at the brew pub, if I put it up against other porters it would probably come out higher. crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2017
355ml bottle. Brown/black pour. Nothing really offensive here, roasted malt, english yeast character. Okay. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 12, 2016
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark brown colored brew with an average sized beige head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind an off-white ring and some film top. Aroma of caramel malt, some dark pitted fruited, some floral hops. and a touch of mocha. Taste is medium bodied, software carbonation with flavors of light chocolate malt, Carnation Evaporated Milk, a touch of mellon and plenty of caramel malt. Finish is a bit sweet for your average porter with some orange hard candy aftertaste. Food-wise, this is more of a pop-over pastry with honey butter porter than the mushroom & Swiss cheese burger porter. Frank (4236) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 10, 2016
This isn’t that great. It’s too sweet and the roast profile is okay at best. It pours headless black and smells pretty mild, maybe some slight roast. Taste has a bit more too it but is still fairly bland beyond a bunch of sweetness which makes it feel heavy and undrinkable. I can’t see myself wanting to drink this again.
