Little supplied for review. The beer pours reddish-brown, under a thin and very brief head. The smell does have a roast to it, and even a bit of the peat that I often get from a Scottish ale.
I get a taste that’s also slightly earthy, but also toasty and somehow crisp. The honey does add an edge of sweetness and makes this feel heartier than its 5.4% abv might suggest. It also leave a bit of stickiness on the lips. unclefrito62 (305) - Stow, Ohio, USA - APR 27, 2017

Pours a dark amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is heavier with toasted and earthy malts coming through strong. Toffee, smoke, nuts, and biscuit are all found, giving an altogether potent nose. The taste isn’t all that complex, though it is balanced well. Here I find earthy malts, toffee, smoke, and biscuit. The aftertaste is lighter and long lasting, being both earthy and smoky. Medium in body, smooth in texture, and average in carbonation. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, light plum/apple, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, light plum/apple, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from hop bitterness and roast malt as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly grainy/creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Irish red ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. Pour form a 12oz bottle. Clear brownish amber body with light tan head. Aroma is sour grass, tea-berry and light caramel. Taste is sweet caramel up front, bitter tea notes, astringent and faintly grassy hops in the finish. A little whiff of something unpleasantly vegetal at the end. This shit is pretty okay/ It’s red brown in color, a little bit cloudy w/ a thin head. It’s got a decent toasty malt character but is a bit too sweet and heavy w/o really being creamy and there seems to be a touch of not entirely unpleasant oxidation. bottle. deep amber red with one finger head. caramel malt dominates the flavors. there’s some light hops in the finish. for the style, it’s decent. it’s just not a style i can imagine anyone getting too excited about.
